16. Optical Efficiency of Low-Concentrating Solar Energy Systems with Parabolic Reflectors
Abstract : Solar electricity is a promising energy technology for the future, and by using reflectors for concentrating solar radiation onto photovoltaic cells, the cost per produced kWh can be significantly reduced. The optical efficiency of a concentrating system determines the fraction of the incident energy that is transferred to the cells and depends on the optical properties of the system components. 17. Efficient heat supply and use from an energy-system and climate perspective
Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to illustrate whether the heat demand in district heating systems can be seen as a resource that enables efficient energy utilization, how this can be achieved and to discuss consequences of this assumption. Based on the answers to posed research questions and on the studies included in this thesis, it is concluded that the hypothesis “A common system approach for energy supply and heat demand will show climate and economic efficient solutions” is true. 18. Radar Signal Processing using Artificial Neural Networks
Abstract : This thesis combines radar signal processing, with data driven artificial neuralnetwork (ANN) methods. Signal processing algorithms are often based on modelingassumptions of how the data was formed. In some cases, such models are sufficientfor designing good, or even optimal, solutions. READ MORE

19. Transition towards autonomy and psychological empowerment in self-management, among teenagers with type 1 diabetes
Abstract : The general aim of this thesis was to study the transition process from dependency towards anatomy and psychological empowerment among teenagers with type 1 diabetes. Thirty-two teenagers (18 female/14 male) aged 13-17 took part in conversational interviews. The interviews followed a semi-structured question guide. READ MORE

20. Insulin Signalling in Human Adipocytes and its Interplay with beta-Adrenergic Control of Lipolysis
Abstract : The prevalence of obesity has over the last 40 years nearly tripled and obesity is one of the major risk factors of developing type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes was formerly called adultonset diabetes but today, probably due to the rise in childhood obesity, it is also seen in children and adolescents. READ MORE
