  1. 1. A blueprint for sustainable consumption and design including performance requirements

    Author : Martin Erlandsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Abstract : A Sustainable Consumption Evaluation(SCE) system framework is developed which is based on anextension of current LCA methodology. The SCE system results inEnvironmental Performance Requirements(EPR's) as the key means for its implementation insustainable design that can be used for product orproduct-service system benchmarking, monitoring and evaluation. 2. 2. Human Interactions on Online Social Media : Collecting and Analyzing Social Interaction Networks

    Author : Fredrik Erlandsson; Johnson Henric; Martin Boldt; Piotr Bródka; S. Felix Wu; Sune Lehmann; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Social Media; Social Networks; Crawling; Complex Networks; Information Cascade; Seed Selection; Privacy;

    Abstract : Online social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, provides users with services that enable them to interact both globally and instantly. The nature of social media interactions follows a constantly growing pattern that requires selection mechanisms to find and analyze interesting data. READ MORE

  3. 3. The role of glial cells in alpha-synuclein pathology : Focus on degradation, cell-to-cell propagation and inflammation

    Author : Jinar Rostami; Anna Erlandsson; Martin Ingelsson; Joakim Bergström; Michael Heneka; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Parkinson’s disease; alpha-synuclein; amyloid-beta; astrocytes; microglia; tunneling nanotubes; antigen presentation; T cells; glial crosstalk; degradation; KYP-2407; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Abstract : Growing evidence emphasizes the role of astrocytes and microglia in Parkinson’s disease (PD) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Yet, little is known about their impact on specific disease processes and if their involvement is beneficial or detrimental. READ MORE

  4. 4. Pathophysiological effects of alpha-synuclein on SNARE complex proteins in models of alpha-synucleinopathies

    Author : Emma Brolin; Joakim Bergström; Anna Erlandsson; Martin Ingelsson; Arianna Bellucci; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Alpha-synuclein; Parkinson’s disease; synaptosome; SNARE complex; proximity ligation assay; extracellular vesicles;

    Abstract : Accumulation and spread of alpha-synuclein (α-syn) aggregates are central to the disease pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease and dementia with Lewy bodies, collectively known as α-synucleinopathies. Native α-syn is a monomeric presynaptic protein that can act as a molecular chaperone for the soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor (SNARE) complex assembly. 5. 5. Early life stages of brown trout - Anti-predator responses under warming winters

    Author : Karl Filipsson; Eva Bergman; Ann Erlandsson; Johan Watz; Martin Österling; Neil Metcalfe; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; behaviour; climate; cortisol; development; egg incubation; embryo; gene expression; ice; light; mRNA; piscivorous; poikilotherm; salmonid; stress; temperature; Biology; Biologi;

    Abstract : During winter, juvenile salmonids in boreal streams are vulnerable to predation, mainly from mammals and birds. Encounters with terrestrial predators can be reduced or avoided if fish limit activity to the darker periods of the day or to periods with surface ice. READ MORE
