1. A Step Towards the Design of Collaborative Autonomous Machines : A Study on Construction and Mining Equipment
Abstract : Fully autonomous construction and mining machines are not science fiction anymore. For special applications, these types of machinery are well known for several years. The construction and mining industries are ripe for innovative product and service offers, including automated and fully autonomous machines at a larger scale. READ MORE

2. Complexities of Order-Related Formal Language Extensions
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis discusses various formal language formalisms that extend classical formalisms like regular expressions and context-free grammars with additional abilities, most relating to order. This is done while focusing on the impact these extensions have on the efficiency of parsing the languages generated. READ MORE

3. Complexities of Parsing in the Presence of Reordering
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis discusses various formalisms for representing the addition of order-controlling and order-relaxing mechanisms to existing formal language models. An immediate example is shuffle expressions, which can represent not only all regular languages (a regular expression is a shuffle expression), but also features additional operations that generate arbitrary interleavings of its argument strings. 4. Wafer-level 3-D CMOS Integration of Very-large-scale Silicon Micromirror Arrays and Room-temperature Wafer-level Packaging
Abstract : This thesis describes the development of wafer-level fabrication and packaging methods for micro-electromechanical (MEMS) devices, based on wafer-bonding.The first part of the thesis is addressing the development of a wafer-level technology that allows the use of high performance materials, such as monocrystalline silicon, for MEMS devices that are closely integrated on top of sensitive integrated circuits substrates. 5. Phenotypic plasticity and local adaptation in island populations of Rana temporaria
Abstract : Phenotypic plasticity is the ability of a genotype to express different phenotypes in different environments. Despite its common occurrence, few have investigated differences in plasticity between populations, the selection pressures responsible for it, and costs and constraints associated with it. READ MORE
