21. Electronic Healthcare Ontologies : Philosophy, the real world and IT structures
Abstract : The thesis investigates how the notion of ‘ontology’ has been used in the field of medical informatics and knowledge representation. Partly to investigate what an ‘ontology’ can be said to represent and what requirements we can have on a good ‘ontology’. READ MORE

23. Control of Multi-Agent Systems with Applications to Distributed Frequency Control Power Systems
Abstract : Multi-agent systems are interconnected control systems with many application domains. The first part of this thesis considers nonlinear multi-agent systems, where the control input can be decoupled into a product of a nonlinear gain function depending only on the agent's own state, and a nonlinear interaction function depending on the relative states of the agent's neighbors. 24. Travel – a risk factor for disease and spread of antibiotic resistance
Abstract : As international travel is rapidly increasing, more people are being exposed to potentially more antibiotic resistant bacteria, a changed infectious disease epidemiology, and an increased risk of accidents and crime. Research-based advice is needed to adequately inform travellers about these risks. READ MORE

25. Limit theorems for generalizations of GUE random matrices
Abstract : This thesis consists of two papers devoted to the asymptotics of random matrix ensembles and measure valued stochastic processes which can be considered as generalizations of the Gaussian unitary ensemble (GUE) of Hermitian matrices H=A+A†, where the entries of A are independent identically distributed (iid) centered complex Gaussian random variables. In the first paper, a system of interacting diffusing particles on the real line is studied; special cases include the eigenvalue dynamics of matrix-valued Ornstein-Uhlenbeck processes (Dyson's Brownian motion).
