  1. 6. Routes, Routines and Emotions in Decision Making of Emergency Call Takers

    Author : Martin Svensson; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; emotion; routines; decision making;

    Abstract : Emergency call takers listen to callers expressing mundane errands, but also to callers who describe severe accidents, agony and deaths. The emergency setting is further complicated by having to perform triage under time-pressure, but without possibilities of seeing the patient. READ MORE

  2. 7. The role of benthic macrofauna in nitrogen cycling in eutrophic lake sediment

    Author : Jonas Martin Svensson; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nitrogen retention; nitrous oxide; oligochaetes; chironomids; mineralisation; nitrification; denitrification; eutrophic; sediment; lake; Macrofauna; nitrogen cycling; fish reduction.; Ecology; Ekologi;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the role of sediment-living macrobenthos in the cycling of nitrogen species and nitrogen transformation in eutrophic freshwater sediments. In my thesis I have, employing 15N-isotope techniques in laboratory experiments, shown the importance of infaunal chironomid larvae and oligochaetes on denitrification in eutrophic lake sediments. 3. 8. Promoting Semantic Interoperability of Contextual Metadata for Learner Generated Digital Content

    Author : Martin Svensson; Marcelo Milrad; Ulrich Hoppe; Niels Pinkwart; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; metadata; contextual metadata; user-generated content; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Media Technology; Medieteknik;

    Abstract : Technological advancements in computing have led to a reality where computational devices are more mobile, connected and context aware than ever before. Several of these devices are primarily designed for or support the creation of digital content via built-in or attachable sensors, e.g. mobile phones. READ MORE

  4. 9. The use of structural equation modeling to describe the effect of operator functional state on air-to-air engagement outcomes

    Author : Martin Castor; Kjell Ohlsson; Nils Dahlbäck; Erland Svensson; Anders K. Ericsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Computational evidence of the operative usefulness of a new system is crucial in large system development processes concerning billions of euros or dollars. Although it is obvious that the human often is the most important and critical component of many systems, it has often been hard for Human Factors researchers to express human aspects in a computational and strict way. 5. 10. Processes important for forecasting of clouds over snow

    Author : Martin Hagman; Gunilla Svensson; Victoria Sinclair; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Boundary-layer meteorology; WRF; Initialization; Stratocumulus clouds; Parameterization; Stable boundary layer; Single Column Model; meteorologi; Meteorology;

    Abstract : The Swedish Armed Forces setup of the Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF) has problems to forecast low clouds in stably stratified conditions when the ground is covered by snow. The aim of this thesis is to understand what causes this deficit. READ MORE
