1. In-plane tension behaviour of masonry
Abstract : The main purpose of the present work is to increase knowledge of in-plane tension behav-iour of masonry and develop a model able to describe the impact of parameters influencing cracking caused by restrained shrinkage. In the process the mechanism of load transfer between units and mortar joints is described. READ MORE

2. Water Absorption in Two-Layer Masonry Systems - Properties, profiles and predictions
Abstract : The main impetus for this research was the desire to verify models for determining transient moisture profiles in the capillary range. For the evaluations, transient moisture profiles were both simulated and measured, after which the results of the two methods were compared. READ MORE

3. Application of the Fluoresecence Lidar Techniques in the Architectural Heritage
Abstract : The primary aim of the research project is to analyse the potential for the application of lidar and fluorescence techniques in building investigation, and also to establish a scientific remote-sensing method for surveying and analysing the historical facade that is non-destructive and can be used in-situ. The fluorescence lidar method uses point-monitoring and scanning of areas that can provide multispectral images in order to identify materials, biodeteriogens and other substances not visible to the human eye. 4. Geometry linking the art of building and the Universe: Geometric patterns on shells and grid shells
Abstract : Geometry links the art of building and the physics of space-time. Mathematical breakthroughs in geometry have led to new ways of designing our structures and our ability to visualise and describe the world, phenomena in nature and the universe. READ MORE

5. Traditional lime mortar and plaster : Reconstruction with emphasis on durability
Abstract : Lime mortar and plaster have been investigated with the aim to improve the knowledge on how to make them as durable as before the cement technology was developed. The background was the durability problems experienced for newly produced lime plaster on the medieval churches on the island of Gotland, Sweden. READ MORE
