1. Ribosomes and subunits from Escherichia coli studied by asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation
Abstract : In this thesis asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation (FFF) separations of ribosomes and subunits have been studied. Ribosomal material was prepared from Escherichia coli (E. coli) cells and analyzed by the size separation technique. READ MORE

2. Catalysts for Car Exhaust: Oxygen Storage in Platinum/Ceria and Mass Transfer in Monoliths
Abstract : In this work, the oxygen storage/release in Pt/ceria catalysts has been investigated both experimentally and theoretically. Moreover, the flow distribution and mass transfer in monolith catalysts for car-exhaust purification have been studied. READ MORE

3. Capacity-controlled Ground Source Heat Pump Systems for Swedish single-family dwellings
Abstract : The overall objective of this thesis is to develop a structured method to approach the challenge of better understanding the techniques and potential for capacity control in Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) systems used in Swedish single-family dwellings. This thesis aims at development of a generic model of the system that can be used for comparative, descriptive, and predictive analysis of capacity controlled GSHP systems in single-family dwellings. 4. Modeling Flow and Solute Transport in Packed Beds : Applications in On-site Wastewater Treatment Systems
Abstract : The use of separate phosphorus (P) filter units containing replaceable filter materials with a high P binding capacity have been suggested as an appropriate passive method to treat the P from pre-treated domestic wastewater in on-site facilities. A large number of materials have been identified and suggested as being potentially suitable for such filters. READ MORE

5. Mass transfer and slag-metal reaction in ladle refining : a CFD approach
Abstract : In order to optimise the ladle treatment mass transfer modelling of aluminium addition and homogenisation time was carried out. It was stressed that incorporating slag-metal reactions into the mass transfer modelling strongly would enhance the reliability and amount of information to be analyzed from the CFD calculations.
