  1. 1. Uncovering novel cell wall chemistries in gram negative bacteria from development or dedicated peptidoglycan chemometric tools to functional genomics

    University dissertation from Umeå : Umeå University

    Author : Akbar Espaillat; Umeå universitet.; Umeå universitet.; [2019]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Bacteria; cell wall; peptidoglycan; peptidoglycan variations; D-amino acids; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Abstract : Bacteria are surrounded by an external cell wall whose main component is a polymeric net-like structure called the peptidoglycan (PG) or murein sacculus. PG plays crucial roles in bacterial physiology (eg morphogenesis, growth fitness and regulation of innate immunity). READ MORE

  2. 2. The Usefulness of ICT Support Systems for Thesis Courses Learners' Perspectives at Bachelor and Master Level

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Computer and Systems Sciences, Stockholm University

    Author : Naghmeh Aghaee; Stockholms universitet.; [2015]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Information and Communication Technologies ICT ; Support System; interaction; thesis; self-managed learning; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : Doing a bachelor’s or master’s degree is a journey that leads to success or attrition (dropout). Previous research show to the significance of considering learners’ perspectives and their need for information and different types of interaction. This can be done through online ICTSS (information and communication technology support systems). READ MORE

  3. 3. Effect of Degree of Cure on Viscoelastic Behavior of Polymers

    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Polymeric Composite Materials; Polymera konstruktionsmaterial;

    Abstract : Reinforced polymer composites consist of continuous fibers embedded in a polymer matrix. The matrix is usually a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin. READ MORE

  4. 4. Environmentally Degradable Polyethylene : Effects of Additives and Environment on the Degradation and Degradation products

    University dissertation from Institutionen för polymerteknologi

    Author : Farideh Khabbaz; KTH.; [2001]
    Keywords : LDPE; polyethylene; oxidative degradation; photo-oxidation; thermo-oxidation; degradation products; photosensitisers; pro-oxidant; starch; master-batch; gas chromatography mass-spectrometry; GC-MS; solid phase microextraction; SPME;

    Abstract : This thesis summarises and compares the influences ofdifferent additives (photosensitisers, pro-oxidants, abiodegradable filler) on blown low-density polyethylene (LDPE)films during photo- and thermal degradation with respect tochemical changes in the polymer matrices and identifieddegradation products. Additives studied were irondimethyldithiocarbamate (FeDMC), nickel dibutyldithocarbamate(NiDBC), carbon black, starch, a pro-oxidant that consisted ofmanganese stearate together with styrene butadiene rubber (SBR)or natural rubber (NR) and a master batch containing linearLDPE, starch and pro-oxidant.
