  1. 6. Automatic Shape Modelling with Applications in Medical Imaging

    Author : Anders Ericsson; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; heart-infarction; lung-embolie; Parkinson; DaTSCAN; SPECT; SCINT; affine shape; MDL; automatic shape models; Deformable models; active shape; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to automatic shape analysis and the second part is devoted to decision support systems in medical imaging. Shape models are widely used in segmentation and shape analysis. The thesis begins with a review of deformable models and the preliminaries of shape modelling. READ MORE

  2. 7. Parabolic equations with low regularity

    Author : Magnus Fontes; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Matematik; Mathematics; Galerkin approximation.; low regularity; variational method; Hilbert transformation; fractional calculus; parabolic equations; quasilinear;

    Abstract : In this work we study a variational method for treating parabolic equations that yields new results for non-linear equations with low regularity on source and boundary data. We treat mainly strongly parabolic quasilinear equations and systems in divergence form. READ MORE

  3. 8. Inverse scattering and distribution of resonances on the real line

    Author : Michael Hitrik; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematics; scattering poles; reflection coefficient; Schrödinger operator; inverse scattering; Matematik;

    Abstract : We study aspects of scattering theory for the Schrödinger operator on the real line. In the first part of the thesis we consider potentials supported by a half-line, and we are interested in the inverse problem of reconstruction of the potential from the knowledge of values of the reflection coefficient at equidistributed points on the positive imaginary axis. 4. 9. Computer Vision Using Rich Features - Geometry and Systems

    Author : Björn Johansson; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; imagebased rendering; Computer vision; view synthesis; Mathematics; Matematik;

    Abstract : In this thesis a number of computer vision problems is discussed, in particular we study the problem of view synthesis. The focus is on using complex features to determine the geometry of the scene and the cameras, in contrast to traditional point-based methods. READ MORE

  5. 10. Geometry and Critical Configurations of Multiple Views

    Author : Fredrik Kahl; Matematik LTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; algebra; algebraic geometry; field theory; Number Theory; Matematik; Mathematics; reconstruction; image sequence; absolute conic; critical motions; critical surfaces; perspective projection; affine geometry; Euclidean geometry; multiple view geometry; projective geometry; group theory; Talteori; fältteori; algebraisk geometri; gruppteori; Mathematical logic; set theory; combinatories; Matematisk logik; mängdlära; kombinatorik;

    Abstract : This thesis is concerned with one of the core problems in computer vision, namely to reconstruct a real world scene from several images of it. The interplay between the geometry of the scene, the cameras and the images is analyzed. READ MORE
