  1. 1. Vector-valued Eisenstein series of congruence types and their products

    University dissertation from Gothenburg : Chalmers tekniska högskola

    Author : Jiacheng Xia; [2019]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hecke operator; Fourier expansion of modular forms; congruence type; products of Eisenstein series; vector-valued modular forms;

    Abstract : Historically, Kohnen and Zagier connected modular forms with period polynomials, and as a consequence of this association concluded that the products of at most two Eisenstein series span all spaces of classical modular forms of level 1. Later Borisov and Gunnells among other authors extended the result to higher levels. READ MORE

  2. 2. Harmonic measures

    University dissertation from Göteborg : Chalmers University of Technology

    Author : Jonatan Vasilis; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2010]

    Abstract : This thesis uses both analytic and probabilistic methods to study continuous and discrete problems. The main areas of study are the asymptotic properties of p-harmonic measure, and various aspects of the square root of the Poisson kernel.Fix a domain and a boundary point, subject to certain regularity conditions. 3. 3. On linear graph invariants related to Ramsey and edge numbers or how I learned to stop worrying and love the alien invasion

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Mathematics, Stockholm University

    Author : Oliver Krüger; Jörgen Backelin; Alexander Engström; [2019]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ramsey number; edge number; minimal Ramsey graph; independence number; clique number; Turán s theorem; crochet pattern; H13-pattern; linear graph invariant; triangle-free graph; matematik; Mathematics;

    Abstract : In this thesis we study the Ramsey numbers, R(l,k), the edge numbers, e(l,k;n) and graphs that are related to these. The edge number e(l,k;n) may be defined as the least natural number m for which all graphs on n vertices and less than m edges either contains a complete subgraph of size l or an independent set of size k. Abstract : This dissertation deals with aspects of axiomatization, intuition and visualization in the history of mathematics. Particular focus is put on the end of the 19th century, before David Hilbert's (1862–1943) work on the axiomatization of Euclidean geometry. The thesis consists of three papers. READ MORE

  5. 5. Generalized Vandermonde matrices and determinants in electromagnetic compatibility

    University dissertation from Västerås : Mälardalen University

    Author : Karl Lundengård; Sergei Silvestrov; Dietrich von Rosen; [2017]

    Abstract : Matrices whose rows (or columns) consists of monomials of sequential powers are called Vandermonde matrices and can be used to describe several useful concepts and have properties that can be helpful for solving many kinds of problems. In this thesis we will discuss this matrix and some of its properties as well as a generalization of it and how it can be applied to curve fitting discharge current for the purpose of ensuring electromagnetic compatibility.
