  1. 6. Modelling of Forming and Welding in Alloy 718

    Author : Lluís Pérez Caro; Mats Oldenburg; Eva-Lis Odenberger; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Forming; welding; Alloy 718; damage; GISSMO; failure; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : The reduction of fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions are currently a key factor for the aviation industry due to major concerns about climate change and more restrictive environmental laws. One way to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions is by significantly decreasing the vehicle’s weight while increasing engine's efficiency. READ MORE

  2. 7. Method Development for Characterisation of Superalloy used in Containment Design

    Author : Ted Sjöberg; Mats Oldenburg; Jörgen Kajberg; Odd Geir Lademo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : Due to the trend of increasing environmental demands put on civil aviation, manufacturersof commercial aircraft engines meet increased pressure to reduce weight. Modernturbofan engines represent up to almost one tenth of an aircraft's total weight, meaning areduction of engine component weight of just 30 kg is estimated to reduce CO2 emissionsby 400 tonnes over the lifetime of a medium sized commercial aircraft. 3. 8. Particle Methods for Modelling Granular Material Flow

    Author : Simon Larsson; Pär Jonsén; Hans-Åke Häggblad; Gustaf Gustafsson; Eugenio Oñate; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : Granular materials are very abundant in nature and are often used in industry, wherethe dynamics of granular material ow is of relevance in many processes. There arestrong economic and environmental incentives for increased eciency in handling andtransporting granular materials. READ MORE

  4. 9. Modelling and Characterisation of Granular Material Flow

    Author : Simon Larsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : Granular materials are very common both in nature and in industry, and their extensive use means that there are financial incentives for increased efficiency. There are huge costs related to their use and handling, which is a major motivation for increased knowledge of the behaviour of granular materials at different loading conditions. READ MORE

  5. 10. Material characterisation for analyses of titanium sheet metal forming

    Author : Eva-Lis Odenberger; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : New demands and opportunities for simulation driven product development, that today's finite element (FE) technology allow for, exists in modern industry. Full applicability, in which decisions based on numerical evaluations and predictions, require accurate material parameters and of course accurate modelling of remaining features. READ MORE
