  1. 1. Autoantibodies in congenital heart block

    Author : Robert Klauninger; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE) affects neonates of Ro/SSA and La/SSB positive women. NLE is associated with several clinical manifestations including skin rash, cytopenia and congenital heart block (CHB). CHB is the most severe manifestation which can develop into a lethal atrioventricular (AV) block. READ MORE

  2. 2. Some effects of maternal anxiety on the fetus and on pregnancy outcome

    Author : Karin Sjöström; gynekologisk och prenatal ultraljudsdiagnostik Obstetrisk; []

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to study maternal emotional impact on the fetus and on pregnancy outcome. The thesis comprises five papers, which emanate from a prospective study regarding life situation, the experience of pregnancy, anxiety (Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety),and life events in nulliparous women, conducted in Malmö during 1988-1989. 3. 3. Continuous Intrapartum Maternal and Fetal Temperature Monitoring

    Author : Tony Lavesson; Urogynekologi och reproduktionsfarmakologi; []
    Keywords : Maternal; fetal; temperature; fever; pyrexia; labor; uterine contractions; delivery; chorioamnionitis; epidural;

    Abstract : The maternal temperature is normally increasing during delivery. Maternal fever in labor is a common problem.Such fever could represent a chorioamnionitis (CAM), leading to an increased risk of neonatal encephalopathy andsubsequent cerebral palsy, as well as other complications. 4. 4. Risk factors for autoimmune-mediated congenital heart block

    Author : Sabrina Meisgen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Placental transfer of maternal Ro/SSA and La/SSB autoantibodies during pregnancy is associated with conduction disturbances and inflammation in the developing fetal heart, termed autoimmune-mediated congenital heart block (CHB). Maternal Ro/SSA and La/SSB autoantibodies are the main risk factors associated with the fetal cardiac manifestations to date, however, the low recurrence rate despite persisting autoantibodies in subsequent pregnancies indicates that additional factors determine fetal susceptibility. 5. 5. Maternal renal artery Doppler velocimetry in normal and hypertensive pregnancies

    Author : Marius Kublickas; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Atrial natriuretic factor Cyclicguanosine monophosphate Doppler ultrasoundKidney Modeling Preeclampsia Pregnancy Preg-nancy induced hypertension Pulsatility index Re-nal artery Renal blood flow Repeatability.Stockholm 1966;

    Abstract : Background: The measurement of effective renal plasma flow (ERPF) by calculation of p-aminohippurate (PAH) clearance is an invasive, time-consuming procedure. In nonpregnant humans, the clearance of isotopes can be used to measure renal plasma flow, but the use of these radioactive substances during pregnancy is unsuitable. READ MORE
