  1. 1. Enzymatic conversion of β-mannans: Analysing, evaluating and modifying transglycosylation properties of glycoside hydrolases

    Author : Mathias Wiemann; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; beta-mannanase; alpha-galactosidase; enzyme engineering; transglycosylation; MALDI-TOF MS; HPLC;

    Abstract : Retaining glycoside hydrolases are enzymes that catalyse the breakdown down of glycans through hydrolysis. Due to the double-replacement mechanism of the retaining glycoside hydrolases (GHs), which form an intermediate with part of the glycan covalently attached to the enzyme, some GHs are able to catalyse synthesis reactions called transglycosylation. 2. 2. Infinitely Demanding Entrepreneurship

    Author : Mathias Karlsson; Martyna Sliwa; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; entrepreneurial practices; social change; ethics; politics; infinitely demanding; autonomous spaces; responsibility; faithless faith; humour; ethnography; Simon Critchley; philosophy; entrepreneurship; sustainability; entreprenörskap; samhällsförändring; etik; politik; oändligt krävande; autonoma utrymmen; ansvar; trolös tro; humor; etnografi; Simon Critchley; filosofi; hållbarhet; Ledarskap; entreprenörskap och organisation; Ledarskap; entreprenörskap och organisation;

    Abstract : In both the study and the practice of entrepreneurship, the phenomenon of entrepreneurship is recurrently put forward as a key, or even the key, to resolving many of today’s social, ecological, and economic challenges. However, research shows that entrepreneurs who pursue social change risk overlooking or excluding certain worldviews, values, and ways of living. READ MORE

  3. 3. Non-image-forming effects of light : Implications for the design of living and working environments

    Author : Mathias Adamsson; Thorbjörn Laike; Maria Johansson; Yvonne de Kort; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; circadian rhythms; circannual; light exposure; melatonin; cortisol; sleep-wake behavior; perception; mood; spectral composition; measurement;

    Abstract : Seasonal variation in mood and subjective well-being are common at geographical locations further away from the equator. The 24-h light-dark cycle is the main time cue for synchronizing the human circadian clock to the external day and night. READ MORE

  4. 4. Numerical Modelling and Analysis of Orthogonal Metal Cutting

    Author : Mathias Agmell; Industriell Produktion; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Metal Cutting; Finite Element Method; Deformation Zones; Sub-surface Deformation; Tool Stress; Inverse Analysis; Kalman Filter; Minimum Chip Thickness;

    Abstract : Most components in use in our society have undergone a machining process at some stage within its manufacturing cycle. As a result, the economics of the machining process plays an important role in the manufacturing costs. READ MORE

  5. 5. Design and synthesis of HIV-1 protease inhibitors

    Author : Mathias Alterman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; HIV-1; Protease; Inhibitors; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Organic Pharmaceutical Chemistry; organisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is the causative agent of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). The C2-symmetric HIV-1 protease is one of the prime targets for chemotherapy in the treatment of the HIV infection. Inhibition of HIV-1 protease leads to immature and non-infectious viral particles.
