1. Particle transport in human lung : effects of particle size and shape
Abstract : Recent studies have shown that nanoparticles may be more toxic than larger particles of the same material, but the health risks associated with widespread use largely depend on the extent of exposure. When dealing with potentially toxic particles, precautionary measures have to be taken in order to minimize contact. READ MORE

2. CFD-based Analysis of Combustion Processes in a Free-Piston Diesel Engine
Abstract : The Free Piston Engine (FPE) which is capable of operating in a variable compression ratio mode, allows flexible auto-ignition control on a cycle-to-cycle basis without any hardware modifications. In this study combustion processes in an FPE were examined using the KIVA-3V CFD code with detailed chemical kinetics (305 reactions among 70 species) of a Diesel surrogate fuel incorporated. 3. Modelling of Electric Arc Welding : arc-electrode coupling
Abstract : Arc welding still requires deeper process understanding and more accurateprediction of the heat transferred to the base metal. This can be provided by CFD modelling. Most works done to model arc discharge using CFD consider the arc corealone. READ MORE

4. Modelling level for simulation and design of fluid power systems
Abstract : Hydraulic system modelling is a powerful tool in design work. For a complex system with many parameters it's difficult to realise the effect of a component change. Also the time to calculate this effect will be reduced with a simulation model and there will be more steps in the iterative process to optimise the system solution. READ MORE

5. On the modular modelling for dynamical simulation with application to fluid systems
Abstract : This licentiate thesis highlights some topics on modular modelling for dynamical simulation with application to fluid systems. The results are based on experience from the development of the fuel cell component simulation environment NFCCPP. The general application is cross-enterprise simulation of technical systems.
