1. Human monoclonal antibody technology. A tool to investigate human antibody repertoires
Abstract : The development of technologies to generate cell lines producing monoclonal antibodies of human origin has a great impact on the ability to study repertoires of specificities in the humoral immune response. Furthermore, it permits the generation of reagents which may be valuable for diagnostic and therapeutic applications and which lack some of the disadvantages of similar murine antibodies. READ MORE

2. Aspects on early diagnosis of neonatal sepsis
Abstract : This thesis presents four studies, all designed to improve the problematic diagnostic situation concerning infants with suspected sepsis. Study I included 401 neonates with suspected sepsis. READ MORE

3. Interaction studies of idiotypic and antiidiotypic antibodies at experimental tumor targeting
Abstract : An increasing number of antibodies are being labeled with radionuclides for immunotargeting, but the negative side effects generated on normal tissues by the nuclide remains a significant problem. The clearing of non-tumor-targeted radiolabeled antibodies from the circulation contributes significantly to improved targeting; it has been demonstrated that anti-idiotypic antibodies can be used for this purpose. 4. Routine procedures in the care of the full-term newborn
Abstract : This thesis presents four studies on routine procedures used in the care of the full-term newborn. The overall aim of the thesis was to study the effects of these routines and endeavour to find ways to improve them.Study I, an observational study, included 28 healthy newborns, assessing pain during neonatal hip examination. 5. Characterization of Antigenic Properties and High Throughput Protein Purification
Abstract : To understand the cellular processes, knowledge of the localization and function of proteins are essential. There are several high throughput ventures examining the human proteome. However, there are some bottlenecks in these ventures. For example the production and expression of soluble proteins for analysis. READ MORE
