1. The Maximum Principle for Cauchy-Riemann Functions and Hypocomplexity
Abstract : This licentiate thesis contains results on the maximum principle forCauchy–Riemann functions (CR functions) on weakly 1-concave CRmanifolds and hypocomplexity of locally integrable structures. Themaximum principle does not hold true in general for smooth CR functions, and basic counterexamples can be constructed in the presenceof strictly pseudoconvex points. READ MORE

2. Studies of distributions in physics using maximum entropy and scaling methods
Abstract : The maximum entropy method (MEM) is applied in the analysis of equilibrium systems. Some general properties of the MEM and how to choose constraints as well as moments are discussed. A numerically stable algorithm is developed and implemented. Distributions arising from physical processes are studied. READ MORE

3. Contributions to the Stochastic Maximum Principle
Abstract : This thesis consists of four papers treating the maximum principle for stochastic control problems. In the first paper we study the optimal control of a class of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) of mean-field type, where the coefficients are allowed to depend on the law of the process. 4. Analysis of Relay Channels and Improved Iterative Decoders for Turbo-Coded Decode-and-Forward Relay Channels
Abstract : Three-node relay channels which consist of a source, a relay and a destinationare considered in this thesis. In the first part, an uncoded relay channelis studied. READ MORE

5. Maximum spacing methods and limit theorems for statistics based on spacings
Abstract : The maximum spacing (MSP) method, introduced by Cheng and Amin (1983) and independently by Ranneby (1984), is a general estimation method for continuous univariate distributions. The MSP method, which is closely related to the maximum likelihood (ML) method, can be derived from an approximation based on simple spacings of the Kullback-Leibler information. READ MORE
