6. SME Performance and Its Relationship to Innovation
Abstract : Current SME performance models suffer from a number of disadvantages. The models use intensively a business ratio approach, they look at SMEs as a homogenous group, they consider firms to be closed systems, they do not directly incorporate the impact of an enterprise’s innovation activities, and finally they are complex and rely on sophisticated statistical refining methods making them unpractical to use by SME managers. 7. Performance and performance measurements in complex product development
Abstract : In today’s competitive environment, in which competition increases and the pace of technological change accelerates, the need for deploying product development investments more efficiently and effectively is stronger than ever. The ability to create streams of new successful products to the market is vital for every product delivering company’s survival. READ MORE

8. Determination of the thermal conductivity of the insulation in district heating mains : Field measurements
Abstract : This thesis concerns the development of a measurement method for determination in the field of the thermal conductivity of the insulation in buried district heating mains. The thermal conductivity of the insulation is calculated from the measured value of the radial heat flow through the heating main, the measured temperature difference across the insulation, and the dimensions of the heating main. 9. Measuring Microbial Activity with an Electronic Tongue
Abstract : The electronic tongue is an electrochemical sensor that is composed of a sensor array of metal working electrodes, one Ag/ AgCl reference electrode, and an auxiliary electrode made of stainless steel. The working electrodes are non-selective with partly overlapping selectivity. READ MORE

10. Development of a Novel Method for Evaluation of Interfacial Tension between Polymer Melts
Abstract : A novel method for the evaluation of interfacial tension of high viscosity polymer melts is described. The method involves the tracking of the shape evolution of a highly deformed droplet of one material imbedded in a second one. This makes it possible to determine the interfacial tension over a relatively short time period. READ MORE
