  1. 1. MECHATRONIC METAPHORS : An embodied realist framework of complexity and expertise in mechatronic project work

    Author : Elias Flening; Martin Grimheden; Anna Jerbrant; David Bradley; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Machine Design; Maskinkonstruktion;

    Abstract : Utvecklingsprojekt inom mekatronik innehåller höga nivåer av komplexitet och kräver expertis i samma utsträckning för att hantera denna. I och med globalt minskande produktivitetsvinster från ingenjörsarbete samt ”outtrassliga” (wicked) problem i utvecklingen av mekatroniska system – med sedan länge rapporterade utmaningar så som brist på gemensam systemförståelse, avsaknad av gemensamt språk för koncept, och disparata mentala modeller – så blir det kritiskt att förstå de faktiskt gällande uppfattningar av komplexitet och kompetens inom utvecklingsprojekt. Abstract : This is a compilation thesis in the sociology of law, which analyses copyright law in three steps; the legal norms, the social norms and the underlying conceptions in their metaphorical representation. These three steps assist in answering the overarching question: "How do legal and social norms relate to each other in terms of the conceptions from which they emanate or by which they are constructed, and what is the role played by the explicit metaphors that express these norms?" The thesis shows how the development of copyright in Europe, when faced with the digital challenge, has been resiliently path dependent (Infosoc, IPRED and more). READ MORE

    Abstract : Over the last 20 years there has been an extensive amount of research on science learning conducted from a “knowledge-in-pieces” or “resources” perspective. One of the main goals of that research has been to identify and characterize available cognitive knowledge resources that can be productive components of scientific understanding. READ MORE
