  1. 1. From Shrieks to Technical Reports : technology, disability and political processes in building Athens metro

    Author : Vasilis Galis; Jane Summerton; Jonas Anshelm; Ingunn Moser; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; co-production; transport disability; symmetry; hybrid collective; accessibility provisions; handbooks; materiality; translation; social model of disability; hybrid forums; concerned groups; configuration of the built environment; samproduktion; transport handikapp; symmetri; hybrid collective; tillgänglighetsåtgärder; handbok; materialitet; översättning; hybrid forums; concerned groups; Technology and social change; Teknik och social förändring;

    Abstract : Avhandlingen beskriver och analyserar hur frågor kring tillgänglighet/handikapp för första gången aktualiserades och implementerades i planeringen och utformningen av den byggda miljön i Aten, nämligen processen i samband med beslut, planering och implementering av jätteprojektet Atens Metro. Studien tecknar framväxten av olika handikapporganisationer, som från att ha varit svaga aktörer successivt lyckades få gehör för sina krav inom stadens förvaltning, politiska organ, den grekiska riksdagen och inte minst inom de företag som byggde metrosystemet. 2. 2. Railway tread braking temperatures - Numerical simulation and experimental studies

    Author : Shahab Teimourimanesh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; railway tread braking; finite element analysis; railway wheels; rail chill; hot spots; frictional heating; heat partitioning; metro; field experiment; rig experiment;

    Abstract : Tread (block) braking is still one of the most common braking systems on railway vehicles. The action is carried out by pressing brake blocks against the tread of a wheel, which is also in rolling contact with the rail. READ MORE

  3. 3. Efficient driving of CBTC ATO operated trains

    Author : William Carvajal Carreño; Paloma Cucala García; Antonio Fernández-Cardador; Lennart Söder; Rafael Palacios Hielscher; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy efficiency; CBTC signalling system; ATO; Metro; Ecodriving; NSGA-II-F; pseudo-Pareto front; Tracking algorithm; Fuzzy parameters; Moving-block; Train Simulation.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik; Energy Technology; Energiteknik; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Abstract : Energy consumption reduction is one of the priorities of metro operators, due to financial cost and environmental impact. The new signalling system Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) is being installed in new and upgraded metro lines to increase transportation capacity. READ MORE
