  1. 1. Evolution and Composition of Object-Oriented Frameworks

    Author : Michael Mattsson; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis comprises studies of evolution and composition of object-oriented frameworks, a certain kind of reusable asset. An object-oriented framework is a set of classes that embodies an abstract design for solutions to a family of related problems. READ MORE

  2. 2. Macromolecular design : UV-curable thiol-ene networks based on renewable resources

    Author : Mauro Claudino; Mats Johansson; Michael Meier; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Plant oils and terpenes are ubiquitous natural renewable compounds. The double bonds contained in most of these monomers can be utilized via the photo-induced free-radical thiol–ene reaction to create novel bio-derived polymer thermosets representing a valuable ‘green’ alternative to petrochemical olefins and resulting synthetic plastic materials. 3. 3. Organic synthesis in water - Investigations of Lewis acid catalysis and chiral hydrophobic auxiliaries in aqueous Michael additions

    Author : Karolina Aplander; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lewis acid catalysis; Chiral hydrophobic auxiliaries; Michael additions;

    Abstract : Asymmetrisk katalys har under de senaste decennierna utvecklats kraftigt. År 2001 delade Knowles, Noyori och Sharpless Nobelpriset i kemi för sina banbrytande bidrag inom just detta område. Utmaningen idag är att utveckla nya metoder inom asymmetrisk katalys som även tar hänsyn till vår växande miljöpåfrestning. READ MORE

  4. 4. Developments in the Field of Aza-Diels-Alder Reactions, Catalytic Michael Additions and Automated Synthesis

    Author : Stefan Modin; Pher Andersson; Lars Engman; Hans Adolfsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; Asymmetric synthesis; aza-Diels-Alder; Michael addition; Transfer hydrogenation; automated synthesis; Catalysis; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : The development of new aza-bicyclic structures with potential applications as ligands synthesised via an aza-Diels-Alder cycloaddition has been studied. The studies are concerning the i) development of large scale aza-Diels-Alder reaction, ii) development of a fast and simple route to bicyclic diamine ligands, iii) development of new aza-Diels-Alder adducts from different dienes, iv) development and application of bicyclic N,P ligands for catalytic Michael additions and v) development of robotized asymmetric transfer hydrogenation reactions. 5. 5. Exploiting enzyme promiscuity for rational design

    Author : Cecilia Branneby; Karl Hult; Alex Zaks; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Candida antarctica lipase B; alanine racemase; substrate specificity; reaction specificity; enzyme catalytic promiscuity; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi;

    Abstract : Enzymes are today well recognized in various industrial applications, being an important component in detergents, and catalysts in the production of agrochemicals, foods, pharmaceuticals, and fine chemicals. Their large use is mainly due to their high selectivity and environmental advantage, compared to traditional catalysts. READ MORE
