  1. 1. New Techniques for Sample Preparation in Analytical Chemistry : Microextraction in Packed Syringe (MEPS) and Methacrylate Based Monolithic Pipette Tips

    Author : Zeki Altun; Lars G Blomberg; Stig Pedersen-Bjergaard; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry; Local Anaesthetics; Microextraction in Packed Syringe; Monoliths; Pipette Tips; Sample Preparation; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Sample preparation is often a bottleneck in systems for chemical analysis. The aim of this work was to investigate and develop new techniques to address some of the shortcomings of current sample preparation methods. READ MORE

  2. 2. Microextraction by packed sorbent of drugs and peptides in biological fluids

    Author : Seyed Mosayeb Daryanavard; Mohamed Abdel-Rehim; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEPS; Local anaesthetics drugs; Peptides; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi; analytisk farmaceutisk kemi; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry;

    Abstract : Sample preparation as the first step in an analytical procedure has an important role, particularly in bioanalysis, because of the complexity of biological samples (blood plasma and urine). Biological matrix such as plasma and blood contains proteins, organic and inorganic salts, acids, bases and various organic compounds with similar chemistry to the analytes of interest. READ MORE

  3. 3. Microextraction for usage in environmental monitoring and modelling of nitroaromatic compounds and haloanisoles

    Author : Sofie Jönsson; Bert van Bavel; Tomas Öberg; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PCA; PLS; QSPR; SPME; MEPS; nitroaromatic compounds; TCA; TBA; Chemistry; Kemi; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Processes in the environment are often complex and the description and prediction of the behaviour of environmental pollutants requires sophisticated methodology including multidimensional technology. Multivariate statistical methods including principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares projection to latent structures (PLS) were used to characterise several nitroaromatic compounds according to a large number of chemical and physical properties. 5. 5. Application of new technology : MEPS and LC-MS/MS for determination of therapeutic drugs

    Author : Rana Said; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Bioanalysis most often requires an extraction procedure to isolate the target compounds from a complex matrix. The aim of this work was to evaluate microextraction in packed syringe (MEPS) performance as a sample preparation technique by developing new analytical methods for different categories of compounds utilizing MEPS in combination with LC-MS/MS.
