1. Crystal plasticity and crack initiation in a single-crystal nickel-base superalloy : Modelling, evaluation and applications
Abstract : In this dissertation the work done in the projects KME-410/502 will be presented. The overall objective in these projects is to evaluate and develop tools for designingagainst fatigue in single-crystal nickel-base superalloys in gas turbines. READ MORE

2. New improved tool materials for short-run sheet-metal forming - Metal matrix composites and microstructural changes of metals
Abstract : The traditional sheet metal forming process, including cast steel die tool and conventional work materials, is fairly well established and analysed. Developments of new alternative materials make great demands upon new forming processes and manufacturing methods. READ MORE

3. Thermomechanical Processing of Nickel-Base Alloy 825
Abstract : Alloy 825 material was studied using a Gleeble-3800 thermosimulatorby performing single-hot compression experiments.Optical microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction wereutilized to characterize the microstructure. Dynamicrecrystallization is not considerable in the as-cast alloy anddislocation recovery is deemed to be dominant. READ MORE

4. Crack growth in single crystal nickel base superalloys under isothermal and thermomechanical fatigue
Abstract : This work concerns the fatigue crack growth behaviour of nickel base single crystal superalloys. The main industrial application of this class of materials is in gas turbine blades, where the ability to withstand severe mechanical loading in combination with high temperatures is required. 5. Crack growth in single crystal gas turbine blade alloys under service-like conditions
Abstract : This work concerns the fatigue crack growth behaviour of nickel base single crystal superalloys. The main industrial application of this class of materials is in gas turbine blades, where the ability to withstand severe mechanical loading in combination with high temperatures is required.
