11. Urinary leakage and physical activity in young women
Abstract : The effect of recreational physical activity on urinary leakage/ incontinence (UL/UI) with regard to load on the pelvic floor (PF) in young women has not been studied specifically. The aim of the present work was, to survey the prevalence of UL and UI in young and mostly nulliparous women giving special attention to previous and current physical activity and micturition habits and to study the prevalence of UL and UI in women with low back pain (LBP) within the same age-span. 12. Role of Caveolae and miRNAs in Regulation of Urinary Bladder Function
Abstract : The urinary bladder is responsible for storage and expulsion of urine. Proper urination depends on an ability of the bladder to adjust to increasing volume and to contract during micturition. A disturbance of bladder contractility may affect continence. READ MORE

13. Factors Contributing to Detrusor Overactivity - Obstruction, Hypertrophy and Afferent Nerve Stimulation
Abstract : The consequences of bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) with respect to detrusor hypertrophy, structural and functional changes, and obstruction-induced detrusor overactivity were investigated in vivo and in vitro utilizing various animal models. Possible pathophysiological pathways and therapeutic approaches were tested by drug treatment and the use of knockout models. READ MORE

14. Functional studies of purinergic and cholinergic interactions in the rat urinary bladder - Characterization of ATP-evoked urothelial release of acetylcholine
Abstract : Functional interplays between different transmitter systems are known to affect the signalling of the micturition reflex arc. The functional implications of many of these interactions, such as between ATP and acetylcholine, have yet to be unravelled. READ MORE
