  1. 11. Protein-Based Adhesives for Particleboards

    Author : Sara Khosravi; Mats K. G. Johansson; Mikael Hedenqvist; Mikael Gällstedt; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : The main objective of this study was to elucidate the possibilities to use wheat gluten (WG) as a binder for particleboards, as well as soy protein isolate (SPI). The focus was on the effect of the adhesive formulation and the processing conditions, while the press parameters were kept constant. READ MORE

  2. 12. Silicon Carbide Technology for High- and Ultra-High-Voltage Bipolar Junction Transistors and PiN Diodes

    Author : Arash Salemi; Mikael Östling; Carl-Mikael Zetterling; Anders Hallen; Nando Kaminski; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Silicon carbide (SiC) is an attractive material for high-voltage and high-temperature electronic applications owing to the wide bandgap, high critical electric field, and high thermal conductivity. High- and ultra-high-voltage silicon carbide bipolar devices, such as bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and PiN diodes, have the advantage of a low ON-resistance due to conductivity modulation compared to unipolar devices. 3. 13. Decompression strain during long-duration, high-altitude exposures : Effects of intermittent excursions to moderate altitude and inspired fractions of oxygen

    Author : Rickard Ånell; Ola Eiken; Mikael Gennser; Mikael Grönkvist; Ole Hyldegaard; KTH; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Teknik och hälsa; Technology and Health;

    Abstract : Today´s tactical demands and new technical solutions in fighter aircraft entail longer exposure periods at higher altitudes than before. A low cabin pressure protects pilots from pulmonary barotrauma in case of a sudden loss of cabin pressure, however it can also generate a supersaturation of nitrogen (N2) in the tissues, increasing the risks of bubble formation and decompression sickness (DCS). 5. 15. Modelling and Quality Assessment of Atrial Fibrillatory Waves

    Author : Mikael Henriksson; Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ECG; signal processing; atrial fibrillation; signal quality; catheter ablation; atrial fibrillatory waves; f-waves;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis revolves around the analysis of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals during atrial fibrillation (AF). Special emphasis is put on the atrial fibrillatory waves, sometimes called the f-waves, which is the ECG component reflecting the electrical activity of the atria. READ MORE
