  1. 1. Accessibility percolation and first-passage percolation on the hypercube

    Author : Anders Martinsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hypercube; percolation; accessible path; house of cards; rough mount Fuji; first-passage percolation; Richardson s model; branching translation process; hypercube;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we consider two percolation models on the n-dimensional binary hypercube, known as accessibility percolation and first-passage percolation. First-passage percolation randomly assigns non-negative weights, called passage times, to the edges of a graph and considers the minimal total weight of a path between given end-points. READ MORE

  2. 2. From energy efficiency to integrated sustainable urbanism in residential development in China

    Author : Zhichang Cai; Ronald Wennersten; Getachew Assefa Wondimagegnehu; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; China; Green Building; New Cave house; Eco-office; Mass-Housing; Green Residential Development; Industrial Ecology; Landsea Housing Project; Hammarby Sjöstad; Systems Thinking; Industrial engineering and economy; Industriell teknik och ekonomi;

    Abstract : China has adopted Sustainable Development as a national strategy for all industries. In civil construction sector, sustainability is regarded as the development of Green Building in China. Since 2000, China has introduced a series of policies and laws to promote Green Building. 3. 3. Use of Recombinant Allergens for Component-Resolved Diagnostics (CRD) in IgE-Mediated Allergy

    Author : Åsa Marknell DeWitt; Pia Ek; Jonas Lidholm; Ronald van Ree; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Biomedical laboratory science; recombinant allergen; IgE; component-resolved diagnostics; CRD; tropomyosin; Phl p 11; Phl p 4; Pen a 1; Hev b 5; Biomedicinsk laboratorievetenskap;

    Abstract : Immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated allergy occurs when our immune system causes a reaction to otherwise harmless substances (allergens). Allergens are predominantly proteins present in biological materials such as pollens, mites, animal epithelia, moulds and foods. READ MORE

  4. 4. Surface Modified Capillaries in Capillary Electrophoresis Coupled to Mass Spectrometry : Method Development and Exploration of the Potential of Capillary Electrophoresis as a Proteomic Tool

    Author : Aida Zuberovic; Jonas Bergquist; Ziad El Rassi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Topology optimization; Design optimization; Material distribution; Wave propagation problems; Inverse problems; Acoustic devices; Medical microwave tomography; High performance computing; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : The increased knowledge about the complexity of the physiological processes increases the demand on the analytical techniques employed to explore them. A comprehensive analysis of the entire sample content is today the most common approach to investigate the molecular interplay behind a physiological deviation. READ MORE

  5. 5. Life cycle primary energy use and carbon emission of residential buildings

    Author : Ambrose Dodoo; Leif Gustavsson; Svend Svendsen; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Byggteknik;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the primary energy use and carbon emissions of residential buildings are studied using a system analysis methodology with a life cycle perspective. The analysis includes production, operation, retrofitting and end-of-life phases and encompasses the entire natural resource chain. READ MORE
