11. Organic Electronics and Microphysiological Systems to Interface, Monitor, and Model Biology
Abstract : Biological processes in the human body are regulated through complex and precise arrangements of cell structures and their interactions. In vivo models serve as the most accurate choice for biological studies to understand these processes. However, they are costly, time-consuming, and raise ethical issues. READ MORE

12. First-Principles Investigation of Bulk and Interfacial Properties of Cu-Co Binary System
Abstract : Due to the complex nature of phase interfaces, acquiring precise interfacial energies is usually a big challenge for both experimental measurements and computational modelings. In this thesis, we put forward an efficient route for assessing the temperature dependence of the interfacial energy using density functional theory (DFT). READ MORE

13. Road Surface and Tyre Interaction : Functional Properties affecting Road Dust Load Dynamics and Storage
Numerical modeling of fluid flow and solute transport in rock fractures
Abstract : This study focuses on numerical modeling of fluid flow and solute transport in rough-walled rock fractures and fracture-matrix systems, with the main aim to investigate the impacts of fracture surface roughness on flow and transport processes in rock fractures. Both 2D and 3D fracture models were built from laser-scanned surface tomography of a real granite rock sample, to consider realistic features of surface tomography and potential asperity contacts. 15. Improving IT Architecture Modeling Through Automation : Cyber Security Analysis of Smart Grids
Abstract : Contemporary organizations depend on IT to reach their goals but the organizations are constantly adapting to changing market conditions and these changes need to be reflected in the IT architecture. Modeling is often used to manage complex architectures allowing to abstract details and focus on the most important aspects. READ MORE
