  1. 1. Applications of the Complex Modulation Transfer Function on SEA-systems

    Author : Karl-Ola Lundberg; Teknisk akustik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vacuum technology; hydraulics; Mechanical engineering; modulated noise; in-situ; modulation transfer function; loss factor; SEA; vibration and acoustic engineering; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik;

    Abstract : The SEA coupling and dissipation loss factors are determined in-situ from Complex Modulation Transfer Functions, CMTF:s, based on measured impulse-responses. A quotient of CMTF:s is least-square curve-fitted to a SEA model and the SEA loss factors are determined from the results of the curve-fit. READ MORE

  3. 3. MULTIFOCAL SPHERICAL FISH LENSES

    Author : Yakir Gagnon; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Multifocal Lens; Adaptation; Dispersion; Spherical lens; Model; Fish; Ray-trace; Longitudinal Chromatic Aberration; Longitudinal Spherical Aberration; Modulation Transfer Function; Point Spread Function; Refractive Index Gradient;

    Abstract : Vision is an important source of information for many animals. The lens plays a central role in the visual pathway and hence the ecology of these animals. Fish have spherically shaped crystalline lenses that contain a gradient of refractive index. Like all refracting elements, lens performance depends on the wavelength of the refracted light. 4. 4. Modeling and Control of Voltage Source Converters Connected to the Grid

    Author : Michael Lindgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; voltage source converter; switching frequency; pulse width modulation; IGBT valve; power electronics; small-signal; L-filter; LCL-filter; transfer function; line filter; active filtering; frequency response; sampling frequency;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the modeling and control of pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage source converters connected to the grid. When voltage source converters are connected to the grid, the power quality and the dynamic performance are affected by the line filter connected between the converter and the grid, and by nonlinearities caused by the switching converter. 5. 5. Wiring Components of the Respiratory Chain : Modulation of the Respiratory Chain in Yeast and Bacteria

    Author : Jacob Schäfer; Peter Brzezinski; Dennis Winge; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cytochrome c oxidase; Electron transfer; Membrane protein; Ligand; Kinetics; Mechanism; Rcf1; Cytochrome c; Respiratory supercomplex; Cryo-electron microscopy; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Abstract : The enzyme complexes of the respiratory chain are organized in supramolecular assemblies, so-called respiratory supercomplexes. In the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, these supercomplexes consist of two copies of complex III (bc1 complex) and one or two copies of complex IV (cytochrome c oxidase, CytcO). READ MORE
