1. Methods and Tools for Analysis and Optimization of Power Plants
Abstract : Modern societies' functionality is strongly dependent on the electricity. Efficient, environment friendly, and economical power production has been in focus for a long time. READ MORE

2. Numerical and laboratory studies of seismic properties and elements of rock fabric from the microscale to the macroscale
Abstract : Physical properties of rocks studied in the laboratory are useful to provide constraints on the dynamics of Earth?s interior. This may include direct constraints on in-situ seismic properties, such as elastic wave velocity measurements that can be compared to seismological data, or petrofabric indicators such as anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS). 3. Characterization and modulation of immunoregulatory molecules in neuroinflammation
Abstract : Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease affecting the central nervous system (CNS). Several lines of evidence suggest that MS is an immune-mediated disorder characterized by active and inactive phases, where changes in disease activity are reflected by changes in the expression patterns of immunoregulatory molecules. 4. Unlocking the Potential of Brewer’s Spent Grain : Sustainable Biorefinery Approach and Value-Added Product Generation
Abstract : Brewer’s spent grain (BSG) constitutes 85% of brewing byproducts and 30% of initial malt. In 2021, BSG production reached approximately 37.2 million tons. Owing to its high moisture and nutritional content, BSG is prone to biological deterioration, causing environmental issues when discarded as waste. READ MORE

5. Effects of Safety Measures for Pedestrians and Cyclists at Crossing Facilities on Arterial Roads
Abstract : The principal aims of this thesis are to define suitable measures for safer pedestrian and cycle crossings on arterial roads, to implement these measures on a large scale and to acquire an insight into their effects on road users' safety, experiences, mobility and the environment, by creating a 30 km/h milieu at the above crossings. Two characteristically different types of measures, physical measures and variable message signs, based on three principles, lower speed, no priority and improved and relevant information, are tested within the framework of this project.
