  1. 1. Molecular Recognition Studies Based on Imprinting Technology

    Author : Cong Yu; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; imprinting; molecular recognition; polymer; chiral separation; acrylamide; chromatography; functional monomer; cross-linking; hydrogen bonding; hydrophobic interactions; aqueous media; solvent; antibody; mimics; receptor; artificial enzyme; Bioteknik; Biotechnology; Biokemi; Metabolism; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : In this thesis, I have focused on five main research areas: 1). A new type of imprinted polymer has been developed, namely the amide MIP. The amide functional monomers showed better hydrogen bonding capabilities in polar organic solvents and the resulting polymers exhibited good enantiomeric recognition properties in organic media. 2. 2. Composite Materials in Molecular Imprinting Technology

    Author : Ecevit Yilmaz; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; immobilized template; molecularly imprinted polymer; composite material; polymerization method; heterogeneous imprinting; surface; morphology; Polymer technology; Polymerteknik; biopolymers;

    Abstract : Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are artificial plastic materials that mimic antibodies or enzymes. Like natural antibodies or enzymes, molecularly imprinted polymers can selectively bind target molecules or can promote catalytic reactions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Towards the Rational Design of Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

    Author : Håkan S Andersson; Ann-Christin Koch-Schmidt; Ian A Nicholls; Klaus Mosbach; Richard F Venn; Tillämpad biokemi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Thermodynamics; Molecular Recognition; Polyvalency; Cooperativity; Electrostatic Interactions; Hydrophobic Effect; Chromatography; Frontal Analysis; HPLC; Spectroscopy; Molecularly Imprinted Polymer; Molecular Imprinting; Crown Ether; Template Polymerisation; Cyclodextrin; Biochemistry; Metabolism; Biokemi; Biotechnology; Bioteknik; molecular recognition; Biokemi;

    Abstract : Molecular imprinting is a technique by which polymeric materials selective for a given target molecule can be created through a casting procedure. Functionalised monomers are added to a solution of molecular templates. READ MORE

  4. 4. Long-range Control of Gene Expression by Imprinting Control Regions During Development and Neoplasia

    Author : Noopur Thakur; Chandrasekhar Kanduri; Thomas Ekstrom; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; Genomic imprinting; Imprinting control region; Antisense RNA; de novo methylation; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi;

    Abstract : Genomic imprinting is an epigenetic phenomenon by which a subset of genes is expressed in a parent of origin specific manner. Most of the imprinted genes are located in clusters. Genetic evidences suggest that genes in imprinted clusters are regulated by Imprinting Control Regions (ICRs). READ MORE
