  1. 21. Use of Biorecognition Elements or Their Mimics in New Flow Analysis Systems

    Author : Bjarni Bjarnason; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; solid phase extraction; molecular imprinting; flow immunoassays; Capacitve biosensor; thermal biosensor; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : We have evaluated capacitive and thermal transducers for recognition of bio- molecular interactions with different analytes. These assays were made in flow analysis systems because of the simplicity such methods provide. READ MORE

  3. 23. Molecular Genetic Studies of Ph-positive Leukemias and the BCR and ABL Genes

    Author : Thoas Fioretos; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CRKL; CRK; ABL; BCR; acute lymphoid leukemia; chronic myeloid leukemia; Philadelphia chromosome; Molecular Genetics; Cytogenetics; IFN-alfa; Haematology; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor;

    Abstract : In the present thesis molecular genetic methods were used to address different biological and clinical aspects of Philadelphia (Ph) chromosome-positive leukemias and the BCR and ABL genes. In the first study, children with Ph-positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) were found to have essentially the same breakpoint locations in BCR as adults, a pattern which differs from the one seen in Ph-positive acute lymphoid leukemia (ALL). 4. 24. Molecular Insights into Kcnq1ot1 Noncoding Antisense RNA Mediated Long Range Transcriptional Gene Silencing

    Author : Radha Raman Pandey; Chandrasekhar Kanduri; Karl Ekwall; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; epigenetics; gene silencing; noncoding RNA; genomic imprinting; Kcnq1ot1; Medical genetics; Medicinsk genetik;

    Abstract : Non-coding antisense RNAs have been implicated in the epigenetic silencing of individual gene as well as chromosomal domains. While silencing of the overlapping gene by antisense RNAs has been well investigated, their functional role in silencing of chromosomal domains remains enigmatic. READ MORE

  5. 25. Fabrication of Functional Molecularly Imprinted Materials using Nanoparticle Building Blocks
