  3. 18. A theoretical perspective on photoinduced reactions - based on quantum chemical models and non-adiabatic molecular dynamics

    Author : Sambit Das; Michael Odelius; Mårten Ahlquist; Stockholms universitet; []

    Abstract : The broad range of applications for photochemical reactions is the result of light-matter interaction at the electronic level. The diverse application of photochemistry in various fields, including photovoltaic materials, molecular switches, and biological systems are due to electronic and structural transformations induced by photoexcitation as well as molecular alteration due to electron and charge transfer. 4. 19. Peptide Conjugates as Useful Molecular Tools

    Author : Adam T. Ślósarczyk; Lars Baltzer; Knud J. Jensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; peptide conjugates; designed peptides; polypeptides; molecular recognition; linker; linking technology; bioconjugation; conjugation; conjugates; Kemi; Chemistry; Chemistry with specialization in Bioorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot bioorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : The conjugation of a small organic molecule to synthetic polypeptides from a designed set has been shown to give rise to binders with high affinity and selectivity for the phosphorylated model proteins α-casein and β-casein but not for ovoalbumin. The small organic molecule that was used for this purpose is comprised of two di-(2-picolyl)amine groups assembled on a dimethylphenyl scaffold, and is capable of complexing two Zn2+ ions to form chelates that bind the phosphate ion. 5. 20. Molecular recognition of proteins by functionalized folded polypeptide receptors

    Author : Theresa Andersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : This thesis describes the design, synthesis and characterization of synthetic receptor molecules for the recognition and binding of proteins with applications in bioseparation and biosensing. A 42-residue polypeptide, designed to fold into a helix-loop-helix motif and dimerize in solution to form a four-helix bundle, was used as the scaffold. READ MORE
