26. Dynamics of multiphoton processes in nonlinear optics and x-ray spectroscopy
Abstract : New generations of ultrashort and intense laser pulses as well ashigh power synchrotron radiation sources and x-ray free electronlasers have promoted fast developments in nonlinear optics andx-ray spectroscopy. The new experimental achievements and the appearance of varieties of novelnonlinear phenomena call for further development of theories. 27. Resonant Soft X-ray Spectroscopic Studies of Light Actinides and Copper Systems
Abstract : Light actinides and copper systems were studied using resonant soft X-ray spectroscopy. An instrumental and experimental setup for soft X-ray spectroscopy meeting the requirements of a closed source for radioactivity was developed and described in detail. The setup was used for studies of single-crystal PuO2 oxidation. READ MORE

28. Ions in cold electrostatic storage devices
Abstract : We have constructed a compact purely electrostatic ion-beam trap, ConeTrap, which we have mounted inside a double-walled vacuum chamber. In the inner vacuum chamber, we can obtain ultra-high vacuum (UHV) conditions and reach thermal equilibrium at well controlled temperatures down to 10 K. READ MORE

29. Electron-transfer processes in fast ion-atom collisions
Abstract : The subject of this thesis is experimental studies of electron-transfer processes in ion-atom collisions at velocities significantly higher than typical orbital velocities of electrons in bound states of atoms or molecules. The experimental technique applied combines the high beam intensity of heavy-ion storage rings with a supersonic gas-jet target equipped with a recoil-ion-momentum spectrometer. READ MORE

30. Spontaneous and stimulated X-ray Raman scattering
Abstract : The present thesis is devoted to theoretical studies of resonant X-ray scattering and propagation of strong X-ray pulses. In the first part of the thesis the nuclear dynamics of different molecules is studied using resonant X-ray Raman and resonant Auger scattering techniques. READ MORE
