  1. 1. Runtime Monitoring of Automated Driving Systems

    Author : Ayhan Mehmed; Sasikumar Punnekkat; Aida Causevic; Hans Hansson; Daniel Watzening; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Runtime Monitoring; Automated Driving Systems; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : It is the period of the World's history, where the technological progress reached a level that enables the first steps towards the development of vehicles with automated driving capabilities. The swift response from the significant portion of the industry resulted in a race, the final line set at the introduction of vehicles with full automated driving capabilities. READ MORE

  2. 2. Preservation of Extra-Functional Properties in Embedded Systems Development

    Author : Mehrdad Saadatmand; Mikael Sjödin; Antonio Cicchetti; Vittorio Cortellessa; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Software Engineering; Embedded Systems; Non-Functional Requirements; Extra-Functional Properties; Model-Driven Development; Trade-off analysis; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : The interaction of embedded systems with their environments and their resource limitations make it important to take into account properties such as timing, security, and resource consumption in designing such systems. These so-called Extra-Functional Properties (EFPs) capture and describe the quality and characteristics of a system, and they need to be taken into account from early phases of development and throughout the system's lifecycle. Abstract : A challenge for the clinical management of Parkinson's disease (PD) is the large within- and between-patient variability in symptom profiles as well as the emergence of motor complications which represent a significant source of disability in patients. This thesis deals with the development and evaluation of methods and systems for supporting the management of PD by using repeated measures, consisting of subjective assessments of symptoms and objective assessments of motor function through fine motor tests (spirography and tapping), collected by means of a telemetry touch screen device. 4. 4. Introducing Continuous Experimentation on Resource-Constrained Cyber-Physical Systems

    Author : Federico Giaimo; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cyber-Physical Systems; Continuous Experimentation; Software Engineering;

    Abstract : Software is ubiquitous and shapes our world, but at the same time it can be viewed as a plastic resource offering the possibility to be improved even after its deployment to better serve its purpose. Exploiting this possibility, the Continuous Experimentation practice is gaining momentum on connected software-intensive web-based systems, allowing the product owners to deploy "experiments" on their software systems, i. 5. 5. Runtime Management of Multiprocessor Systems for Fault Tolerance, Energy Efficiency and Load Balancing

    Author : Stavros Tzilis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fault Tolerance; Algorithms; Runtime Management; Multiprocessors; Performance; Adaptive Systems; Load Balancing; Energy Efficiency;

    Abstract : Efficiency of modern multiprocessor systems is hurt by unpredictable events: aging causes permanent faults that disable components; application spawnings and terminations taking place at arbitrary times, affect energy proportionality, causing energy waste; load imbalances reduce resource utilization, penalizing performance. This thesis demonstrates how runtime management can mitigate the negative effects of unpredictable events, making decisions guided by a combination of static information known in advance and parameters that only become known at runtime.
