  1. 6. Development of a Morphology-based Analysis Framework for Asphalt Pavements

    Author : Ibrahim Onifade; Björn Birgisson; Nicole Kringos; Denis Jelagin; William G. Buttlar; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Morphology; damage; X-ray computed tomography; top-down cracking; fracture; Morfologi; skador; röntgendatortomografi; ’top-down’sprickbildning; fraktur; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Abstract : The morphology of asphalt mixtures plays a vital role in their properties and behaviour. The work in this thesis is aimed at developing a fundamental understanding of the effect of the asphalt morphology on the strength properties and deformation mechanisms for development of morphology-based analysis framework for long-term response prediction. 2. 7. The lichen genus Candelariella in western North America

    Author : Martin Westberg; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phylogeny; ITS rDNA; Systematic botany; taxonomy; morphology; phytogeography; chemotaxonomy. Physiology of nonvascular plants; Systematisk botanik; taxonomi; distribution; anatomy; Candelariaceae; Candelariella; morfologi; kemotaxonomi. Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .;

    Abstract : The lichen genus Candelariella comprises crustose to small squamulose members of the family Candelariaceae. The genus currently includes c. 50 species world-wide but few studies have treated the taxonomy within this group. In the present thesis the taxonomy of the genus in western North America is treated. 3. 8. Effects of increased UV-B radiation on the lichen Cladonia arbuscula spp. mitis: UV-absorbing pigments and DNA damage

    Author : Roberta Buffoni Hall; Biologiska institutionen; []

    Abstract : Lichens, a form of symbiosis between a fungal and a photosynthetic partner, are believed to be a group that evolved early in the history of terrestrial life. As a consequence, they probably experienced higher ultraviolet (UV) radiation fluxes than at present. READ MORE

Växters fysiologi inte kärlväxter .;

    Abstract : Large-scale patterns of genetic variation in chloroplast (cp) and nuclear DNA in the widespread European herb species Silene latifolia and S. dioica were investigated using cpPCR-RFLPs, non-coding cpDNA sequences, AFLPs and sequences of the internal transcribed spacers (ITS) of nuclear ribosomal DNA (rDNA).
