  2. 2. Structural Behaviour in Concrete Frame Corners of Civil Defence Shelters Non-linear Finite Element Analyses and Experiments

    Author : Morgan Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; blast load; non-linear finite element analyses; reinforcement detailing; spliced reinforcement; frame corners; civil defence shelters; impact load; concrete;

    Abstract : From a safety point of view it is important that a concrete structure, apart from necessary load capacity, also is able to show ductile behaviour that allows redistribution of forces so that a local failure not lead to total collapse of the structure. A structure's ability to exhibit such behaviour is highly dependent on the reinforcement detailing of the joint connections between its independent members. READ MORE

  3. 3. End-Shield Bridges for High-Speed Railway : Full scale dynamic testing and numerical simulations

    Author : Hesham Elgazzar; Jean-Marc Battini; Mahir Ülker-Kaustell; Morgan Johansson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; high-speed railway; end-shield bridges; structural dynamics; soil structure interaction; full scale bridge testing; controlled forced excitation; hydraulic bridge exciter; frequency response function; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Abstract : The increasing need for High-Speed Railway (HSR) to reduce the travelling time requires increasing research within this field. Bridges are main components of any railway network, including HSR networks, and the optimization of their design for this purpose would contribute to a faster and more cost effective development of the HSR network. 4. 4. Bridge Edge Beams : LCCA and Structural Analysis for the Evaluation of New Concepts

    Author : José Javier Veganzones Muñoz; Lars Pettersson; Costin Pacoste; Raid Karoumi; Håkan Sundquist; Morgan Johansson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Abstract : Bridge edge beams in Sweden may involve up to 60% of the life-cyclemeasure costs incurred along the road bridge’s life span. Moreover, usercosts as means of traffic disturbances are caused. Consequently, the SwedishTransport Administration started a project to find better alternativeedge beam design proposals for the society. READ MORE
