  1. 21. Losing control and developing concerns : The complexities of ageing postural control and fall-related concerns

    Author : Mascha Pauelsen; Lars Nyberg; Ulrik Röijezon; Irene Vikman; Jorunn Lægdheim Helbostad; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; ageing; postural balance; postural control; sensory and motor systems; fall-related concerns; fear of falling; neurological models; Physiotherapy; Fysioterapi;

    Abstract : With the world population shifting its proportions towards higher ages, it is imperative to increase healthspan rather than lifespan, both for the sakes of community sustainability as well as individual quality of life. One of the main means to obtain healthy ageing, is a concept called active ageing, as activity has shown to slow down the natural ageing process. READ MORE

  2. 22. Industrial Robot Programming

    Author : Klas Nilsson; Institutionen för datavetenskap; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; control engineering; robotics; Automation; Software architecture.; Embedded systems; Open systems; Robot control; Industrial robots; Robot programming; Automatiska system; robotteknik; reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Industrial robots play a key role in manufacturing systems. Robots are distinguished from other types of machinery mainly on the basis of their programmability and ability to be adaptable to different tasks. READ MORE

  3. 23. Towards Energy Efficient Control of Individual Wheel Drive Articulated Vehicles

    Author : Fredrik Broström; Jonas Fredriksson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Reglerteknik; Control Engineering;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to increase knowledge in the area of articulated vehicles and specifically energy efficient traction control. Eletrical propulsion of vehicles has started to be popular due to its versatility and freedom of design. READ MORE

  4. 24. Optimization of Low-Level Controllers and High-Level Polymer Grade Changes

    Author : Per-Ola Larsson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; process control; PID control; robustness; noise sensitivity; dynamic optimization; polymerization; Modelica;

    Abstract : Two design problems at different levels in the control hierarchy are considered; optimization of robust low-level controllers with constrained control signal activity and optimization of economical high-level polyethylene grade changes. As for the first design problem, a constraint on control signal activity due to measurement noise is presented and used when optimizing and comparing PI/PID controllers with measurement filters of different orders. 5. 25. Haptic Feedback Control Methods for Steering Systems

    Author : Tushar Chugh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; passivity and coupled stability; torque and position overlay; Haptic feedback; impedance and admittance control; system identification; steering system;

    Abstract : Haptic feedback from the steering wheel is an important cue that defines the steering feel in the driver-vehicle interaction. The steering feedback response in an electric power assisted steering is primarily dependent on its control strategy. READ MORE
