  1. 1. Multicomponent Catalytic Reactions : Theoretical and Experimental Studies

    Author : Martin Pauze; Enrique Gomez Bengoa; Belen Martin-Matute; Vincent Gandon; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; C-H Activation; Quaternary Quinolinium; Organocatalyst; Transition Metal Catalyst; Umpolung Strategy; Multi-step Reactions; Mechanistic Investigation; Density Functional Theory; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : In this thesis, Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods have been applied to study the mechanisms of three different multicomponent organic reactions. Also, a new synthetic procedure for the preparation of quinolinium salts is presented, and its mechanism also studied by DFT calculations. READ MORE

  2. 2. Palladium(0)-Catalysed Carbonylative Multicomponent Reactions : Synthesis of Heterocycles and the Application of Quinolinyl Pyrimidines as Enzyme Inhibitors

    Author : Linda Åkerbladh; Mats Larhed; Luke Odell; Anders Karlén; Lise-Lotte Gundersen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Palladium catalysis; Carbonylation; Multicomponent reactions; Domino reactions; Heterocycles; 4-Quinolones; 2-Aminoquinazolinones; Benzoxazinones; N-Acylguanidines; Type II NADH dehydrogenase; NDH-2;

    Abstract : Palladium-catalysed carbonylative multicomponent reactions have proven useful for the synthesis of structurally diverse compounds. Carbon monoxide serves as an atom-efficient, one-carbon building block, which allows for further structural elaboration of the carbonyl compound. READ MORE

    Abstract : Section 1 of this thesis contains an introduction to method development in organic synthesis, multicomponent reactions, sulfonyl azides, tracer development in 11C chemistry and the biological target.Section 2 describes the use of sulfonyl azides in carbonylative chemistry. Paper I covers development of a diazotransfer protocol. READ MORE

  4. 4. Multicomponent diffusional reactions in tool steels : Experiment and Theory

    Author : Greta Lindwall; Malin Selleby; Karin Frisk; John Ågren; Carelyn Campbell; KTH; []
    Keywords : hot-work tool steel; precipitation hardening; DICTRA; coarsening; mobilities; CALPHAD; cobalt; PM tool stees; nitrogen; compound materials;

    Abstract : Many phenomena determining the microstructure of a tool steel and consequently the properties of the material, are governed by multicomponent diffusion. The diffusion driven reactions that take place during, for example, tempering of a hot-work tool steel or when the microstructure develops during hot isostatic pressing of cold-work tool steel, are dependent on the types and amounts of alloying elements. 5. 5. Development of new Catalytic Methods for the Selective Synthesis of Heterocycles

    Author : Stalin Reddy Pathi Pati; Nicklas Selander; Masaharu Nakamura; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; catalysis; indium; heterocycles; Lewis acid; multicomponent reactions; furans; alkynes; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : In the field of organic chemistry, the development of new catalytic methods for the synthesis of complex molecules from simple precursors is a top priority. The main focus of this thesis concerns the diastereoselective synthesis of heterocyclic compounds using main group elements as Lewis acid catalysts. READ MORE
