1. Weld Pool Simulations
Abstract : This investigation is devoted to the study of welding and its effect on the workpiece, focusing on the thermo and fluid dynamical phenomena occuring during a autogenous or nonautogenous arc fusion welding process. Its aim is to simulate the behaviour of the weld pool and analyze the consequence of the solid-liquid phase change, thus obtaining a methodology for predicting the appearance of weld defects related to solidification and cooling. 2. Multiphysics Characterization of SiC Power Modules
Abstract : This thesis proposes several novel silicon carbide power module design concepts. The goal has been to address the problems with the present designs. The electrical, thermal, and thermomechanical performances of the demonstrators have been evaluated along with presentations of methodologies of experimental and numerical characterizations. 3. Microstructure in SOFC: electrochemical simulations and experiments
Abstract : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are highly efficient and environmentally friendly power sources that convert chemical energy directly into electricity and heat, without the need for combustion. Despite their many benefits, the performance and durability of SOFCs heavily depend on the quality of their porous anode and cathode components. READ MORE

4. Macroscopic modelling of coupled multiphysics in swelling cellulose based materials
Abstract : Paperboard has been the basis for packaging materials used to aseptically store and protect food and beverages for a long time. To ensure that there are no bacteria that can spoil the product, sterilizing treatments are made. READ MORE

5. Demagnetization Studies on Permanent Magnets : Comparing FEM Simulations with Experiments
Abstract : In a world where money often is the main controlling factor, everything that can be tends to be more and more optimized. Regarding electrical machines, developers have always had the goal to make them better. READ MORE
