1. Multiple stressors in rotifer communities: : Effects of predation, climate change, and brownification
Abstract : Most organisms on Earth live in an environment where they are exposed to multiple pressures, including predation and climate change. In many aquatic ecosystems, organisms have to handle additional challenges such as brownification, co-occurring with climate warming. READ MORE

2. Seawater intrusion risks and controls for safe use of coastal groundwater under multiple change pressures
Abstract : In the era of intense pressures on water resources, the loss of groundwater by increased seawater intrusion (SWI), driven by climate, sea level and landscape changes, may be critical for many people living in commonly populous coastal regions. Analytical solutions have been derived here for interface flow in coastal aquifers, which allow for simple quantification of SWI under extended conditions from previously available such solutions and are suitable for first-order regional vulnerability assessment and mapping of the implications of climate- and landscape-driven change scenarios and related comparisons across various coastal world regions. 3. Sustainable consumption for policymakers: measuring, learning and acting
Abstract : Current patterns and levels of consumption are a key driver of unsustainable resource use and pollution, which contributes to global environmental degradation. Rapid reductions in environmental pressures are required to avoid irreversible loss of fragile ecosystems and social and economic crises. Consumption must become sustainable. READ MORE

4. A Combustion Concept for Future Heavy-Duty Diesel Engines
Abstract : The Diesel engine has been intensively developed by manufacturers and researchers since 1892, when it was invented. However, the direction of its development has shifted in recent years.Environmental issues are becoming increasingly important in our society, prompting more efforts to be put into making the engines cleaner. 5. Ventilation distribution in the lung periphery measured by inert gas washout : influence of increased gravity, anti-G suit pressure, body posture, and breathing pattern
Abstract : The lung is highly sensitive to forces of gravity and acceleration, and to surrounding pressures. This thesis aimed to assess the effects on ventilation distribution in peripheral lung units when changing the direction or magnitude of the gravitational vector and when compressing the lower body half with an anti-G suit (AGS).
