  1. 1. Chemical Sensors and Multivariate Data Analysis

    Author : Henrik Petersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : Today, sensors can be found in many different applications, such as in home appliances, vehicles, medical equipments, mobile technology etc. Nearly all products with a reasonable technological height have a sensor integrated.Chemical Sensors are devices able to sense the chemical environment and are today an active area of research. 2. 2. Directed Evolution of Glutathione Transferases Guided by Multivariate Data Analysis

    Author : Sanela Kurtovic; Bengt Mannervik; Ulf Hellman; Denis Pompon; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Biochemistry; DNA shuffling; substrate selectivity; mutant library; glutathione transferase; multivariate data analysis; prodrug; Biokemi;

    Abstract : Evolution of enzymes with novel functional properties has gained much attention in recent years. Naturally evolved enzymes are adapted to work in living cells under physiological conditions, circumstances that are not always available for industrial processes calling for novel and better catalysts. 4. 4. Nonionic surfactants : A multivariate study

    Author : Lise-Lott Uppgård; Michael Sjöström; Svante Wold; Jiri Damborsky; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; AEO; APG; aquatic toxicity; cellulose reactivity; Fock; MLR; multivariate data analysis; nonionic surfactant; PCA; physicochemical properties; PLS; QSAR; surface activity; viscose; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis technical nonionic surfactants are studied using multivariate techniques. The surfactants studied were alkyl ethoxylates (AEOs) and alkyl polyglucosides (APGs). The aquatic toxicity of the surfactants towards two organisms, a shrimp and a rotifer, was examined. The specified effect was lethality, LC50, as indicated by immobilisation. READ MORE

  5. 5. Deciphering sequence data : A multivariate approach

    Author : Maria Sandberg Hiltunen; Michael Sjöström; Svante Wold; Lars Ståhle; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Principal properties; amino acids; nucleotides; tRNA; DNA; multivariate data analysis; sequence analysis; QSAR; quantitative sequence activity relationships;

    Abstract : In this thesis, attention has been focused on the quantitative description of nucleic acids, proteins and peptides. The strategy was to use multivariate chemometrical methods for improving the understanding of the complex structural codes of these kinds of biological molecules. READ MORE
