  1. 1. Consequences of Shb Deficiency on Hematopoietic Cell Function

    Author : Karin Gustafsson; Michael Welsh; Martin Bergö; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hematopoiesis; hematopoietic stem cells; myeloid neoplasia; T cells; atopic dermatitis; cell signaling; Medical Cell Biology; Medicinsk cellbiologi;

    Abstract : The adaptor protein Shb has been implicated in the signaling of several tyrosine kinase receptors and previous studies have suggested a role for Shb in the signal transduction of T cells. Shb associates with the T cell receptor (TCR) and partakes in the signal propagation of activated T lymphocytes. READ MORE

  2. 2. Molecular Regulation of Inflammation and Angiogenesis in the Tumor Microenvironment

    Author : Lothar Dieterich; Anna Dimberg; Lena Claesson-Welsh; Jonas Fuxe; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stroma; glioma; alphaB-crystallin; HSPB5; cryab; myeloid cells; Morphology; cell biology; pathology; Morfologi; cellbiologi; patologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Molekylär medicin; Molecular Medicine;

    Abstract : Tumor growth and progression not only depend on properties of the malignant cells but are strongly influenced by the tumor microenvironment. The tumor stroma consists of various cell types such as inflammatory cells, endothelial cells and fibroblasts, which can either inhibit or promote tumor growth. READ MORE

  3. 3. Hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and potentials for application in fetal cell replacement therapy

    Author : Karina Liuba; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; in utero hematopoietic cell transplantation; hematopoietic stem cell; multipotent progenitor; fetal therapy; heterotypic cell fusion;

    Abstract : Fetal cell replacement therapy or in utero hematopoietic cell transplantation (IUHCT) is proposed as a non-myeloablative alternative to bone marrow transplantation (BMT) for a number of inborn immunologic, hematologic and metabolic disorders. IUHCT represents the method through which variable amounts of natural or genetically modified hematopoietic cells can be transferred to the fetal recipient in hope of correcting the disorder and preventing postnatal permanent organ damage. 4. 4. Cellular and Molecular Pathways Governing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Fate

    Author : Liping Yang; Stamcellscentrum (SCC); []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; stem cell; hematopoiesis; bone marrow transplantation; lineage commitment; cytokine; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; extracellulära vätskor; Hematologi; Medicin människa och djur ; extracellular fluids; Haematology;

    Abstract : Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) have been defined to have abilities of both self-renewal and multi-lineage differen-tiation. The balance between these abilities is rigorously controlled under steady-state status (homeostasis) and when the normal processes of self-renewal and differentiation become deregulated, a disorder of blood system (such as leukemias) can occur.
