  1. 1. Asymmetric Hydrogenations using N, P - Ligated Iridium Complexes

    Author : Alexander Paptchikhine; Pher G. Andersson; Karl Anker Jørgensen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; asymmetric hydrogenation; iridium; birch; boronates; fluorine;

    Abstract : The research described in this thesis focuses on the catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation of prochiral olefins using N, P – chelated iridium catalysts. This catalytic system is tolerant to a wide range of substrates and performs better than the well-known ruthenium- and rhodium-catalytic systems for substrates devoid of coordinating groups in proximity of the olefin. 2. 2. Falls in ambulatory individuals with spinal cord injury : incidence, risk factors and perceptions of falls

    Author : Vivien Jørgensen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Background: Falls in ambulatory individuals with chronic spinal cord injury (SCI) are common and may have adverse consequences. Little and inconclusive research has been done in this population, and there is a need for more knowledge in order to develop prevention strategies appropriate for this population. READ MORE

  3. 3. Comparing effects of endogenous and anthropogenic nitrogen supply on ectomycorrhizal fungi

    Author : Karolina Jörgensen; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Boreal forests are characterized by strong nutrient limitation and nitrogen is partic-ularly scarce. Ectomycorrhizal fungi acquire nitrogen from the soil in return for car-bon from their tree host and are, thus, pivotal mediators of carbon and nitrogen cy-cling. READ MORE

  4. 4. In-group bias control

    Author : Öyvind Jörgensen; Institutionen för psykologi; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; In-group bias; in-group favoritism; control; stereotypes; prejudice;

    Abstract : This thesis explores in-group bias control. It is well-known that people tend to have extra liking for people they identify themselves with. An extra positive in-group attitude may cause discrimination, even in the absence of any negative attitudes towards the out-group. READ MORE

  5. 5. Nitrogen and phosphorus interactions and transformations in cold-climate mine water recipients

    Author : Sara Chlot; Sven Erik Jørgensen; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Abstract : Process water discharged from mine sites may contain elevated concentrations of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P), which both are nutrients for phytoplankton and macrophytes. Thus, discharge of nutrient rich mine water can result in algal blooms, eutrophication, oxygen deficiency and changed species composition in the recipients. READ MORE
