  1. 1. Laser-Induced Incandescence and Complementary Diagnostics for Flame Soot Characterization

    Author : Nils-Erik Olofsson; Förbränningsfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysicumarkivet A:2015:Olofsson;

    Abstract : This work has been aimed at developing and applying laser-induced incandescence (LII) for flame soot characterization. The basic principle of LII is rapid heating of the soot particles to temperatures of 3500-4000 K by short laser pulses. Thereby the intensity of the soot incandescence is increased. READ MORE

  2. 2. Regiocontrol in the Heck-reaction and fast fluorous chemistry

    Author : Kristofer Olofsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; palladium; Heck-koppling; regiokontroll; MAO-hämmare; ssao-hämmare; mikrovågskemi; Farmaceutisk kemi; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Farmaceutisk kemi; Organic Pharmaceutical Chemistry; organisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : The palladium-catalysed Heck-reaction has been utilised in organic synthesis, where the introduction of aryl groups at the internal, β-carbon of different allylic substrates has been achieved with high regioselectivity.The β-stabilising effect of silicon enhances the regiocontrol in the internal arylation of allyltrimethylsilane, while a coordination between palladium and nitrogen induces very high regioselectivities in the arylation of N,N-dialkylallylamines and the Boc-protected allylamine, producing β-arylated arylethylamines, which are of interest for applications in medicinal chemistry. 3. 3. Diet and postprandial risk markers for complications in type 2 diabetes

    Author : Camilla Olofsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The period after a meal is complex with fluctuation in blood glucose, lipids and other metabolic responses. This may induce and/or increase inflammation and contribute to future development of diabetic complications. Prevention of complications include well-controlled disease management, including diet. 4. 4. Studies of the vascular endothelial growth factors, VEGFs, and their receptors, focusing on VEGF-B

    Author : Birgitta Olofsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : vasculogenesis; angiogenesis; VEGF; VEGF-B; VEGF receptors; neuropilin;

    Abstract : The inner lining of all blood- and lymphatic vessels are composed of endothelial cells. Their growth and differentiation are in part regulated by polypeptide growth factors and their receptors. READ MORE

  5. 5. Carbon and nitrogen fluxes associated to marine and estuarine phytoplankton

    Author : Malin Olofsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nutrient assimilation Stable isotopes Single cell diversity Phytoplankton;

    Abstract : Globally, mainly nitrogen or phosphorus is limiting the primary production. New nitrogen can enter estuarine ecosystems as nitrate from upwelling events, from river runoff, atmospheric deposition, or by nitrogen fixation. READ MORE
