  1. 1. Thermal Stability of Electrodeposited Nanocrystalline Ni- and Co-Based Materials

    Author : Melina da Silva; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nanocrystalline materials; 3DAP; nanocomposite; thermal stability; TEM; nickel; texture; DSC; cobalt; grain growth; EBSD;

    Abstract : The attractive properties associated with nanocrystalline materials are to a large extent a result of their high intercrystalline volume fraction. However, the intrinsic instability of the nanostructured state may compromise the gain in properties by the occurrence of grain growth during exposure at elevated temperatures. READ MORE

  2. 2. Nanocrystalline Tungsten Trioxide Thin Films : Structural, Optical and Electronic Characterization

    Author : Malin Johansson; Lars Österlund; Gunnar A. Niklasson; Juan Morante; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : tungsten trioxide; nanocrystallin structure; thin films; optical properties; electronic properties; Engineering Science with specialization in Solid State Physics; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns experimental studies of nanocrystalline tungsten trioxide thin films. Functional properties of WO3 have interesting applications in research areas connected to energy efficiency and green nanotechnology. READ MORE

  3. 3. Microfabrication of Tungsten, Molybdenum and Tungsten Carbide Rods by Laser-Assisted CVD

    Author : Kajsa Björklund; Tamas Szörényi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Laser-assisted CVD; tungsten; molybdenum; tungsten carbide; kinetics; field emission; nanocrystalline; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : Thin films of refractory metals and carbides have been studied extensively over many years because of their wide range of application. The two major techniques used are Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) and Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD). These can result in the deposition of two-dimensional blanket or patterned thin films. 4. 4. Electrical Transport in Nanoparticle Thin Films of Gold and Indium Tin Oxide

    Author : Jesper Ederth; Knut Deppert; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Electrical transport; Nanoparticle; Nanocrystalline; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; English; engelska;

    Abstract : Electrical transport properties of nanoparticle gold films made by the gas evaporation method were analysed using resistivity measurements. Low temperature electrical transport measurements showed a cross-over from a temperature range dominated by inelastic scattering to a temperature range dominated by elastic scattering, presumably by grain boundaries. 5. 5. Microstructural Development of Nanocrystalline Ni- and Co-Based Materilas upon Annealing

    Author : Melina da Silva; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Ni; grain growth; nanocrystalline materials; Co-P; Ni-Fe; thermal stability; TEM in-situ annealing;

    Abstract : Nanocrystalline materials are a relatively new group of materials that are constituted by crystals/grains of a few nanometers in size. Because their mechanical, physical and chemical properties are often superior compared to their microcrystalline counterparts, these materials are attractive for many industrial applications.
