1. Reactions in the System Nitro-cellulose/ Diphenylamine with Special Reference to the Formation of a Stabilizing Product Bonded to Nitro-cellulose
Abstract : The methods HPLC, microcalorimetry and FTIR together with chemometry, provide good analytical tools to follow the degradation of nitro-cellulose.The degradation products formed from diphenylamine (DPA) during storage can be followed with HPLC. FTIR, together with chemometry, also gives the precision needed for safety control of propellants. READ MORE

2. Social causality in motion : Visual bias and categorization of social interactions during the observation of chasing in infancy
Abstract : Since the seminal work of Fritz Heider and Marienne Simmel (1944) the study of animacy perception, or the perception and attribution of life from the motion of simple geometrical shapes has intrigued researchers. The intrigue for psychologists and vision scientists then and today centered on the stark disconnect between the simplicity of the visual input and the universal richness of the resulting percept. 3. Multiplet bases, recursion relations and full color parton showers
Abstract : The papers in this thesis all concern the treatment of colors in perturbative QCD, both in the context of hard scattering cross sections and for parton showers. The complexity of the color structure of QCD increases quickly with the number of external partons. READ MORE

4. Precision Standard Model Phenomenology for High Energy Processes
Abstract : The present status of particle physics is that the Standard Model has been completed with the discovery of theHiggs boson in 2012, but there is a multitude of phenomena in nature which is not accounted for by this model.Researchers are investigating possibilities for detecting new physics at the current particle physics facilities, withthe Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at the frontier. 5. Structural and Functional Studies on Evolutionary Repurposing of H-box/NC-proteins : From Host Factor to Virus Protein
Abstract : The Picornaviridae are a large family of biomedically important viruses causing diseases such as the common cold, hepatitis A and polio in humans and foot-and-mouth disease in cattle. These diseases have great impact on people’s everyday life and cause economical losses all around the world. To date, no antiviral treatments are available. READ MORE
