  1. 21. Vesicle proteins as markers for neuroendocrine tumors

    Author : Anne-Marie Levin Jakobsen; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : Neuroendocrine tumours; gastrointestinal tract; pancreas; adrenal; vesicle proteins; ; SV2; NESP55; VMAT1; VMAT2; MIBG;

    Abstract : The neuroendocrine (NE) tumours comprise a diversity of tumours which share commonproperties, e.g. the capacity to produce, store and release hormones. A prominent feature ofthe NE phenotype is the production of secretory granules with associated vescicle proteins,e. READ MORE

  2. 22. The functional organization of nuclear envelope proteins

    Author : Santhosh Kumar Gudise; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In eukaryotic cells, the nucleus is enclosed by a double lipid membrane, termed the nuclear envelope (NE). The NE consists of the outer nuclear membrane (ONM), the inner nuclear membrane (INM), the nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) and the nuclear lamina. READ MORE

  3. 23. Gene Therapy with Interferon Alpha and the Angiogenic Inhibitor, Vasostatin, in Neuroendocrine Tumors of the Digestive System

    Author : Minghui Liu; Kjell Oberg; Yinghua Zhou; Bertram Wiedenmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Internal medicine; neuroendocrine tumor; interferon-α; vasostatin; vinculin; tumor suppressor gene; nude mice; gene therapy; Invärtesmedicin;

    Abstract : IFN-α has been applied in medical treatment of various neuroendocrine (NE) tumors, either alone or combination with somatostatin analogues. They can improve clinical symptoms in 50-70% of patients but a significant tumor reduction is only observed in 5-15% patients. Vasostatin (vaso) is believed to be an angiogenic inhibitor. READ MORE

  4. 24. Marginal behaviour of the last Scandinavian Ice Sheet during its final termination and deglaciation over Northeastern Germany

    Author : Joachim Albrecht; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; climatology; cartography; pedology; geomorphology; Physical geography; Marginal dome; Deglaciation; Clast lithology; Clast fabric; Germany; Pomeranian; Weichselian; Lithostratigraphy; marklära; kartografi; klimatologi; Sedimentology; Sedimentologi;

    Abstract : This thesis presents results from studies on geomorphology, lithostratigraphy and ice flow patterns during the final termination and deglaciation of the last Scandinavian Ice Sheet in NE Germany. Ice flow patterns derived from till fabrics and glaciotectonical data indicate that short-lived marginal domes had formed during the advance and the retreat of the last Scandinavian Ice Sheet in NE Germany. 5. 25. Neutral and Adaptive Processes Shaping Genetic Variation in Spruce Species

    Author : Michael Stocks; Martin Lascoux; Renaud Vitalis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spruce; population genetics; adaptation; evolution; picea; approximate bayesian computation; cline;

    Abstract : Population genetic analyses can provide information about both neutral and selective evolutionary processes shaping genetic variation. In this thesis, extensive population genetic methods were used to make inferences about genetic drift and selection in spruce species. READ MORE
