16. Late Cycle Soot Oxidation in Diesel Engines
Abstract : Diesel engines are the most common engine technology used in transportation. Its widespread use comes from its inherent high efficiency and its relative low cost. It suffers from pollutant emission issues, however, that need detailed understanding of their origins to meet the strictest current and upcoming emission standards. READ MORE

17. Palladium Catalyzed Methane Oxidation for Emission Control
Abstract : The use of methane based fuels, such as natural gas and biogas, benefits from lower emissions of CO2, CO, NOx, non-methane HC, SOx and particulate matters compared to traditionally used liquid fossil fuels. However, the exhaust gases contain significant levels of unburnt CH4 residuals, which are desirable to minimize since CH4 is a strong greenhouse gas with high global warming potential. READ MORE

18. Oxidation of terpenes in indoor environments : A study of influencing factors
Abstract : In this thesis the oxidation of monoterpenes by O3 and NO2 and factors that influenced the oxidation were studied. In the environment both ozone (O3) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) are present as oxidising gases, which causes sampling artefacts when using Tenax TA as an adsorbent to sample organic compounds in the air. 19. Partial methane oxidation from electronic structure calculations
Abstract : Investigating catalytic reactions with computational methods is a powerful approach to understand fundamental aspects of catalytic reactions and find ways to guide catalytic design. Partial methane oxidation is one example of a reaction with intriguing challenges, where a detailed atomistic approach may help to unravel the bottlenecks of this, as of yet, inefficient reaction. 20. Experimental and kinetic studies of H2 effect on lean exhaust aftertreatment processes: HC-SCR and DOC
Abstract : With a growing concern to lower greenhouse gas emissions from road transportation, lean burn and diesel engines will keep playing an important role in the future. Development of a highly efficient and durable process to reduce NOx to N2 becomes a challenging issue especially in the presence of ample O2 concentration as in lean burn exhaust. READ MORE
