  1. 1. FTIR Studies and Kinetic Modelling of NOX Reduction and NOX Storage

    Author : Björn Westerberg; [2000]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NOX storage; kinetic modelling; diesel exhaust; alumina; NOX reduction; FTIR spectroscopy; catalysis;

    Abstract : FTIR spectroscopy and kinetic modelling have been used to study catalysts for NOX reduction and NOX storage. For Pt/Al2O3 exposed to NO, oxygen and propene IR-bands associated with nitrates, acetate, formate, carbonates and isocyanate were observed. Experiments with NO, oxygen and HNCO showed that isocyanate is an intermediate for reduction of NOX. READ MORE

  2. 2. NOx reduction with dimethyl ether in lean exhaust

    Author : Sara U Erkfeldt; [2009]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NOx storage; Dimethyl ether; ether; hydrocarbon-SCR; lean NOx reduction; alcohol; Cu-ZSM-5; lean NOx trap; alkane; alternative fuel;

    Abstract : There is a growing concern worldwide about the increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, particularly carbon dioxide (CO2) from the combustion of fossil fuels. Vehicles with internal combustion engines contribute significantly to these emissions, which has led to an increased demand for engines running on alternative (non-fossil) fuels. READ MORE

  4. 4. Molecular mechanism(s) underlying neurodegeneration in SCA7 disease Role of NOX enzymes and oxidative stress

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Neurochemistry, Stockholm University

    Author : Abiodun Ajayi; Anna-Lena Ström; Ana Cristina Rego; [2015]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; neurodegeneration; oxidative stress; NOX; metabolism; p53; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Abstract : Spinocerebellar ataxia type 7 (SCA7) is an autosomal dominant neurodegenerative disorder caused by a CAG trinucleotide expansion in the SCA7 gene resulting in progressive ataxia and retinal dystrophy. SCA7 belongs to a group of neurodegenerative disorders called polyglutamine (polyQ) diseases, that share the common feature of glutamine tract expansions within otherwise unrelated proteins. 5. 5. NOx Storage and Reduction Catalysts. Reduction with Hydrogen and the Influence of Water and Carbon Dioxide

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Neurochemistry, Stockholm University

    Author : Anna Maria Lindholm; [2007]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NSR catalyst; Pt Ba Al; H2O; CO2; Pt Al; NOx reduction; H2; NH3 formation; NOx storage; Lean NOx Trap; N2O formation; kinetic modeling; Pt Si;

    Abstract : Environmental concern has increased over the past several years and resulted in stringent emission legislation on NOx, CO, and hydrocarbon emissions from automobile exhausts. Moreover, the demands to improve the fuel efficiency of engines and to lower the CO2 emissions have increased, and a way to meet this is by using lean burn engines which operate with oxygen excess.
