  1. 1. Health-related aerosol particle studies, respiratory tract deposition and indoor source identification

    Author : Jakob Löndahl; Kärnfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aerosol particle; health; ultrafine particles; nanoparticle; deposition; respiratory tract; Fysicumarkivet A:000;

    Abstract : Aerosol particles have, since Classical Antiquity, been linked to adverse effects on human health. It is estimated that the particles in urban air pollution causes 100 000 deaths in Europe each year, whereof 5 000 in Sweden. READ MORE

  2. 2. Aerosol Metal Nanoparticles and their Role in Particle-Assisted Growth of III–V Nanowires

    Author : Robert Hallberg; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; aerosol formation; III–V semiconductor materials; catalyst particles; Palladium nanoparticles; Gold nanoparticles; Spark discharge generation; MOVPE; MOCVD; Transmission electron microscopy TEM ; Phase stability; Nanoparticle deposition; Nanoparticle generation; nanoparticles characterization; Nanowire NW ; Nanowire growth;

    Abstract : Semiconductor nanowires have properties that make them potentially useful for applications in future electronic, photovoltaic, and optoelectronic devices. A powerful nanowire fabrication technique is the use of a nanoparticle as a preferential nucleation site, from which a nanowire grows. READ MORE

  3. 3. Electrical Transport in Nanoparticle Thin Films of Gold and Indium Tin Oxide

    Author : Jesper Ederth; Knut Deppert; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Materials science; Electrical transport; Nanoparticle; Nanocrystalline; Materialvetenskap; Materials science; Teknisk materialvetenskap; English; engelska;

    Abstract : Electrical transport properties of nanoparticle gold films made by the gas evaporation method were analysed using resistivity measurements. Low temperature electrical transport measurements showed a cross-over from a temperature range dominated by inelastic scattering to a temperature range dominated by elastic scattering, presumably by grain boundaries. 4. 4. Supported Mono- and Bimetallic Gold Nanoparticle Catalysts for Different Organic Transformations

    Author : Sheetal Sisodiya; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : Gold nanoparticles; coupling reaction; styrene epoxidation; bimetallic nanoparticle; supported gold nanoparticle;

    Abstract : Supported gold nanoparticles are emerging as an important class of catalysts for various organic transformations due to their tunable properties. This thesis embraces the fundamental studies of supported gold nanoparticles for different organic reactions from the viewpoint of understanding the role of synthesis methods, nature of carriers, and addition of second metal on the properties and functions of gold catalysts. 5. 5. Synthesis of carbon-covered iron nanoparticles by photolysis of ferrocene

    Author : Karine Elihn; Knut Deppert; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; iron; carbon; nanoparticle; ferrocene; laser-assisted CVD; particle size; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; Inorganic Chemistry; oorganisk kemi;

    Abstract : One important driving force in nanotechnology today is the change which can be made in the properties of a material when the dimensions of its individual building blocks are decreased below approximately 100 nm. Such small building blocks, typically nanoparticles, may induce new and unique properties compared to those of the corresponding bulk material. READ MORE
