  1. 1. Effect of light power density variation on dental light-cure resin composites

    Author : Nazanin Emami; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Machine Elements; Maskinelement; Polymeric Composite Materials; Polymera konstruktionsmaterial;

    Abstract : Dental resin based composites are tooth-colored filling materials composed of synthetic resins and particulate ceramic reinforcing filler particles. The resin system also contains molecules that promote and/or modify the polymerisation reaction of the dimethacrylate resin monomers. READ MORE

  2. 2. Variables affecting stress development and resin conversion in light-cured dental composites

    Author : Nazanin Emami; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Machine Elements; Maskinelement; Polymeric Composite Materials; Polymera konstruktionsmaterial;

    Abstract : The general aim of this dissertation was to identify and investigate factors that can be used to minimize stress development in light cured dental resins without compromising the conversion level of the polymer. Modulus of elasticity, polymerization contraction strain, degree of conversion and shrinkage of light-cure dental composites were determined after curing with three different light power densities where total irradiated energy (J/cm2) kept constant. 3. 3. Development of Constituents for Multi-functional Composites Reinforced with Cellulosic Fibers

    Author : Zainab Al-Maqdasi; Roberts Joffe; Nazanin Emami; Liva Pupure; Yvonne Aitomäki; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cellulose fibers; multi-functional; composites; nano-reinforcement; thermoplastics; development; Polymeric Composite Materials; Polymera kompositmaterial;

    Abstract : Bio-basedcomposites are being increasingly used in applications where weight saving,and environmental friendliness is as important as structural performance. Obviously, bio-based materials have their limitations regarding durability and stability of the properties,but their potential in use for advanced applications can be expanded if they were functionalized and considered beyond their structural performance. 4. 4. Multifunctionality and Durability of Cellulosic Fiber Reinforced Polymer Composites

    Author : Zainab Al-Maqdasi; Roberts Joffe; Nazanin Emami; Liva Pupure; Tatiana Glaskova-Kuzmina; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Polymeric Composite Materials; Polymera kompositmaterial;

    Abstract : The overall objective of this thesis is to develop and evaluate cellulose-based fiber composites with added multifunctionality for advanced applications. In the strive towards sustainable societies and industries, materials as well as production processes need to be assessed against the sustainability criteria and selected accordingly. READ MORE

  5. 5. Porous structures based on nanopolysaccharides for medical applications

    Author : Narges Naseri; Nazanin Emami; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Trä och bionanokompositer; Wood and Bionanocomposites;

    Abstract : Recently, the use of bio-based nanomaterials has attracted much interest in medical applications due to their cytocompatibility, good moisture stability, good mechanical properties, hydrophilic surfaces and their ability to form porous structures. The aim of this work is to develop porous nanocomposites based on nanochitin and nanocellulose with controlled pore size and porosity in order to facilitate cell growth and interconnectivity and to investigate their potential in wound dressing and cartilage regeneration.
